It wasn't easy keeping my dog crated for 4 weeks. She basically was very ticked off. The good thing was, I had a plan for the end of the 4 weeks. I didn't let her go out of the crate and go nuts running around. The only exercise she had for about a week or so after the crate rest, was swimming, just swimming, and nothing else. I needed to tire her out in a way that wouldn't cause her anymore stress both mentally and physically. I have done crate rest with dogs a whole lot more high drive than she is, and it was nearly hell. However, you look at the long term goal.
