Do Right, you deserve a bone; maybe even with a little meat on it. lol My husband had a good experience with a pound pup; but it was a beagle mix for pete sake. lol He bought it for his little boy 12 years ago and she's still going strong. I can say one good thing about the shelters....they have recognized that if they're intentions are to find permanent homes for their unwanted pooches they need to put them through the basic obedience to make folks more willing to adopt. The shelters in my area have gotten pretty good about doing this; especially with the bigger dogs and they offer very low cost training classes that for a pet owner are sufficient. How's that bone taste Do Right?? lol
DRFNO, again. If you read these posts you'd know I have 2 rescue cats. If you're happy with you dogs, I'm happy for you.
Thanks spook. I am happy for your two cats also. They have homes. Sad to say but my wife got a cat from the shelter (she likes dogs but she loves cats:), and it did not turn out good. The cat got out of the kitchen door, into the back yard and got killed by three of my dogs. My wife and I were not home and my son (the "Icould care less about your dogs, dad" son) let the cat out and could not stop the dogs from killing it. We don't have cats now and never will, because I AM happy with my dogs.
DesertRanger: You put up one hell of a fight. Spook just sparred a little with me. No reason to get jealous :)
Agar: Thanks for the bone with the meat on it. It would have been really nice except that a pound dog took it from me before I was finished gnawing :) And me a purebred, titled person (LOP, SSGT, YFC)
I knew I was still the special one! lol
Crates make excelent end tables. I always try to keep at least two in the living room.
SS
SS: I use them for storage, in the garage. I don't think my wife would go for the end table thingy. She watches too many of those "Trading Spaces" kind of shows that are all the rage now. They show you how to re-do your bathroom for 35 bucks and $1500.00 later, I am only half way done :)
DRFNO my dogs aren't allowed to be aggresive towards other animals. My cats are safe here.
On today's Petfinder.com
"Foster is a brindle (sable) male, born Sept 2004. He is a high drive dog, his breeding was from Schutzhund dogs. Foster is high energy as well..........................Foster has been in our rescue since May 2006.......he is a velcro dog.......doesn't bark unnecessarily...very smart....his original owner didn't have time for him"
The photo is that of a definitely purebred sable workingline GSD, his ear are not standing. There is no mention of a tatoo or chip. but since he's an owner turn in, they might not have put that information in the ad.. He's in the South Brevard GSD rescue, 321-724-8873.

spook: Better hope your dogs don't ever go near the Arkansas river. Especially if they are wearing their booties :) (hey spook, I'm not making fun of you or your dogs, I'm making a joke about another thread that I am sure you read)
Blitzen: Not quite the caliber of dogs we were discussing previously, but I do hope he gets a good home. Makes me wonder how important is it to workingling owners that their dogs have up and hard ears? If a really nice workingline dog has soft ears or down ears, but the dog is phenomenal in its work ethics, nerve, hardness and all of those other terms, should it or would it be used for breeding. Of course with mates that could help strengthen the ears. My guess is that workingline breeders may use an ears down, but otherwise outstanding dog in their breeding program, and my guess is that showline breeders would not. Because they would catch hell for it. I am NOT putting down workingline dogs or breeders/owners. Just curious but don't want to fight today. Tired of it :)
Yeah, I read another thread about how you had all these bad ass dogs that could kill any german shepherd. I really wouldn't want to tick off anyone as macho as you. (I'm making a joke about another thread that I am sure you read)
