Susie, I agree with you.
Except the way I understood the op, (and understanding his convoluted writing is very difficult to me) was that he bought the dog from the breeder, and that he, Freddy, had to drive a couple states away to get the dog. But he keeps referring to the guy as the breeder of the dog.
