You're just not getting it!  It's got nothing to do with with giving sub-sections to either line.  It's got more to do the split itself, in the breed, and the fact that this now separates the subjects as if they were two different breeds.  You yourself are stating that the SL people are in the majority here and that's fine, but the topics used to be GEARED towards working.  That's no longer the case and the WL people have not many other venues.  Since the SL dogs are in the majority, there wasn't much of a voice for the WORK in many other forums and this is where they gathered.  There was a change about 2 years ago and it's gotten to this point now.  It is what it is and it may never be the venue you're hoping for.  It's not what you're doing or not doing, it's the winds of change.

The show line are not in the majority. The show lines were in the majority of the people who wrote me and that is all. I would say it is even or very close. But here is the thing out of all the people who wrote not one said "we want a show forum" the theme was being afraid to post because of either being attacked or watching and reading while others were being attacked talking GSDs. Again, show line people are not the majority of this site-I would guess it is more of an even split. But please don't confuse a split with this site splitting the breed. It is split because there are people who enjoy both types. Good or bad it is what it is.

Who is separating the breed, not this site, we only have different places to talk, people are more than welcome to participate in all sub-sections. This is what happened the way I remember it--the show line people used to be mostly on the GSD forum and working on general but they did spill over--where are all the UK show people now? they used to be all over the GSD side. Where are they now?

The German shepherd is a working breed and this site will gear to what the breed dictates. It is not this site that has split the breed-it is every organization who deals with each type and the very people who own those dogs, not this site. All we are trying to do is give that group a place to talk, but we are not telling anyone to stay out of any sub-section.


One of the mods pointed this out. There was a thread in April about what kind of dogs people have. I am going to highlight all the working people still visiting even though this is in April, plus to show what the majority is. Majority working self reported by you guys.

There's nothing that needs proven, it is what it is at this point.  The squeaky wheel gets the grease.  But maybe, just maybe, the problem is really a loose lug nut and you'll lose the wheel anyway.

Why are we still at this?  The Conformation forum is a good idea and is popular.  This is not about who the majority is: working or show people but the hits.  There are some SL members that put up massive hits in the OT forum.  The same members post in the SL threads and some post subtle advertisements in training threads.  If there are so many working line members why so few threads about WL dogs or sport or work training?  I don't get what the big deal is?  many WL members don't compete, title or work their dogs just as the majority of SL owners don't show, title or work their dogs.  The vast majority are pet owners with dogs with varying pedigrees.  And that is absolutely ok and terrific.  If the PDB has evolved into a good forum for SL dogs and topics that is great.  I do have an interest in conformation, a well put together dog holds up and works better and longer.

I'm not arguing about this, I'm stating what I think is going on.  You're making this into something it's not.  Like I said, it is what it is.  You're looking for someone to argue with about it and they're not here - or they are here and they're speaking volumes with their silence.  That's just MHO.

I'm tired and I'm going to bed, I'll sleep well and I wish you the same.  Don't fret, you're doing a good job and it will even out at some point, hopefully.

You guys keep saying this used to be a working line place, but then double speak and say don't diminsh it to between SL and WL, I am not but you guys seem to be.
