 Naturally no dogsport has as the goal to see how much injury a dog can take, neither to select policedogs. I also guess it would be a rare occasion when a dog is the first choice to use if a suspect is armed. I also think a dog with good drives suited for the job could take a hit ot two even if it´s no pitbull;) some sports are pretty rough and physical but I suppose just like humans a dog that is really excited can block out some discomfort in the heat of the battle. Isn´t more important to have dogs that are of a strong mentality when not in an excited mode, I mean even soft dogs that are very excited could be more or less insensetive to physical corrections due to their excitment and training.
