BTW, my almost  8.5-year-old Geronimo vom Olympus (possibly the last Ursus Batu son standing at stud in the USA) has a very nice, titled, Belgian bitch coming for breeding next week. IN view of the fact that he hasn't been used recently (last litter ~<6months old), the bitch's owner has requested that I "clean his pipes" this week--meaning to ejaculate him to assure a fresh supply of semen.

Jackie, that's what I'd recommend doing several times with your young male before considering collection of semen for freezing. Go to a canine reproductive specialist for collection and evaluation of sperm motility, quantity, and morphology. It may be helpful to have  acooperative "teaser bitch" (doesn't have to be in full estrus) present for the collection of the semen sample to be frozen. Many repro specialist will  keep (in a refrigerator freezer) several cotton tipped applicators containing female phermones or vaginal secretions of a bitch in estrus. This is rubbed on the teasre bitch''s hind quarters for the stud to sniff.

Thanks Louise, I have a friend who has a friend.....you know how it goes, but anyway, the friend's friend, Charlotte Williams, has had the young male for about a week now, & will hopefully help me with this, as she still breeds GSDs & has several experienced bitches that she said might be able to assist us. I too wonderd why spar with folks who are obviously bored stif from the heat waves and have nothing better to do then post scandalous spitefull remarks.  


Louise has a vast history of very good knowledge GSD related and otherwise. She has always been one to freely share her time and knowlege and help others. We all have different personalities and styles.. I admire her for her she is not who others feel she *should be*. 

Constant degrading comments toward anyone are a reflection of peoples character... its sad that much time was spent on negative things instead of something fruitfull or positive..I hope that changes for folks.

I am amazed the site owner who makes money off all the clicker ads and so forth doesnt have the scrupples to remove such degrading posts.... OF course he must be sooo busy. I just wonder as I would not want such hateful things associated with anything I owned.

Hmmm I was also wondering if the heat and full moon were a good excuse for peoples conduct??? NOT in my opinon..but  you know try to rationalize anything.

Come on now Maggie, you have certainly started your share of shit as well as made your share of "over the top" remarks, as I have, as just about everyone does at one point or another.   Please - just let this go, stop pointing fingers, you don't have a dog in this fight, anyway. 

And now here comes maggie. Like I said earlier, flies buzzing around a horses a**. They never stop. And Louise, please do not take it that I'm calling you the horses a**.

And maggie I contributed a very significant amount to the "get Shelly out of town" fund. And I would do it again for anyone I feel is in an abusive relationship and needs assistance. I make absolutely no judgments on either Shelly or Molly.

Life is full of land mines, and then there are the occasional piles of s*** that one can't avoid stepping in. You are one of the piles of s***.

As I said, I enjoy reading her posts. Her threads are very informative. When I see her name on a thread, I am likely to read it. Others, not so much. jackie harris
