No answer, I left a message.  I'll let you know when she call back.

Add flu to the list. Still in Cumberland, MD. Van still in shop.
How can a person's face be so hot, and the rest of them SO cold?

I managed to get sick this afternoon, feel like hell... weak.
But aside from feeling terrible, unable to swallow, things are looking up.
My only family, my younger sister Lori, (the one who ISN'T a screw up) who lives clear out in LA, is tired of her sister getting the crap end of the stick. She's covering this motel, getting the van out of hock via telephone. Getting the hole in the exhaust pipe and maybe even the heater fixed too. I have enough cash for gas for the rest of the trip.

I already have a plan for how I am going to pay it forward, BTW. Had plenty of time to think between bouts of hysteria lately...It involves dog rescue, of course.   :-)

Some day I'll look back at the last six mos and laugh.... but its gonna be awhile. If I never see another flake of snow, patch of ice, never feel cold all the way to my soul again, it'll be too soon. A friendly face would be SO welcome right now. I'm really tired.
Must remember to look for a large-print bible when I get settled. The print in the ones I have has shrunk. LOL

Please say a little prayer nothing else goes wrong on this journey. Auntie Shelley is all out of "tough." Only one set of footprints in the sand right now, that's for sure.  Thanks for all the good words and support (again) you guys.

Hmmm... More coming out the hole in the middle than the tail pipe. Purple lips anyone?

Hang in there girl, you'll make it!  If you get stranded for more than a day, give me a call, I'm only about 90 minutes out.  There's more snow headed this way from Chicago, don't drive until it's clear!  From what I've seen it should be past this area by Friday.  I'll still try to get in touch with my aunt, she may be out of town, she's got kids all over the country and may have gone to visit, BUMMER.

The van is repaired.
God bless my sister. She is going to see that the dogs and I get home, no matter what.
Any guesses on when I will spend another winter freezing my arse off West of the rockies???
How 'bout NEVER!

I'm not sure what route you are taking Shelley but you know you are more than welcome to stop and stay awhile with us here in Wichita, Ks.  It's bitterly cold here right now but our house is toasty warm and the larder is stocked!

Hey Shelly, I am sorry you are not feeling well, the bug you have has been responding to a third generation of Cephalosporins
like Cefdinir (trade name Omnicef 300mg) does come in generic. Walmart has free Cephalexin (1st generation) find a clinic to write you an RX. Could use Quinolone which is also free at Walmart. I hope you feel better.
Always,
Cee
