A bad picture showing a mistake is not bad in and of itself but I have seen people use a picture (say of a dog coming off a sleeve) taken out of context (as a picture is basically just a statement of a point in time) to say somthing happened that actually did not. ( if you had several pics that would equate to a several points and thus a better conclusion) That is where the problem comes in . You can use a factual statment to make untrue point. I have never been afraid to make a mistake and I believe that we all can learn from them. But a picture can be a powerful statement. with time passing we can forget some of what precipitated the mistake. I have probably about 5-6000 photos of different dog stuff, Why keep the bad ones?
We should keep the bad ones because if we only allow the pictures that show the dog in a positive light we also give a false impression. Right? I aware that photos and videos can be abused but the censorship, even if self imposed, can be just as damaging.
I can’t tell you how many times I see a picture of a dog, that I know for a fact wouldn’t bite cotton if it were dipped in gravy, look like biting beast in ONE picture and that’s the only record that can be found. Who is that good for?
Last year a dog got run at the AWMA Nationals. It’s a good dog with good training, but neither dog nor handler had ever seen that level of helper work. This happens every year; people come to the AWMA unprepared for the trial. I think one of the reasons they come unprepared is because everyone that videos the trial edits the video to only show the dogs that are doing well in trial. If people left in the negatives more people would be prepared. Also those that don’t do well would know that this happen every year and would not think that they are the only ones that ever looked bad.

But since you bring her up, that girl has more heart than most people that trial. And she knows what she is in for at the National having been 3 or 4 times.

I don’t think that censorship is the answer to hypocrisy. And if people on the internet believe everything that they see shouldn’t they see both the negative and the positive?

I do agree with both Nia and Christopher, the young lady will go very very far in not only the sport but in everything she decides to do. She has class, heart, and sportsmanship.
