The breed standard I have stored in my files calls for 22 to 32 kg. for females and 30 to 40 kg. for males. That's 50 to 70 lbs. for females and 66 to 88 lbs. for males.
The GSD is supposed to be a medium large dog. IMO, anything bigger than the standard reduces their agility.
My working line female only weighs 53 lbs. at 18 months. She jumps like a kangaroo. When she was 6 months old she was not only jumping down the 4 steps from the house to the main entrance, she was also jumping UP them.
The female above (Star), OTOH, is not a huge fan of jumping. She'd do the hurdle and A-frame, but it was definitely her weakest area in the sport.

Less functional and a hindrance to what? Im not herding sheep and im not doing agility. My dog still chases a ball for as many times I care to throw it. And I can bet you a yrs wages that you will never get to that ball before her.

We are all still waiting to see your dog in a pic doing something other than being an obese paperweight.

Pretty much everything, its a real problem for the breed IMO. I might add it is possible to get big athletic dogs just much rarer.
Are you seriously saying you have never seen my vids here, I have post prolly near 100. Folks are sick of seeing my vids I'm sure.

Well known fact that animals with 4 legs can outrun a human.
