IMO, if you want credibility in this matter you need to name the breeder. Without doing that all it is a bunch of words and emotions. Plus you are leaving this person free to do this to the next unsuspecting new person who comes along. If we never speak up about wrongs committed onto us, we are giving the person who victimized us a free card to do it to the next person.

I also wish the OP had started his own thread as this thread about a totally unrelated topic is now hi-jacked. Does anyone even remember what the original intent of this thread was?

OP may not be the only victim from this seller, and others who have gone through it may be able to help.

Yeah, the original original poster was ranting about breeders/sellers
misleading buyers by misrepresenting themselves / their dogs in the
adverts. Seems pretty relevant to me that Freddy, a newbie, should
take this thred as a cue to have his own rant about a breeder/seller
who did him wrong.

Hands up for every one who forked over $42,000 dollars for a trained dog without first seeing it perform the training being bought.
Second, how many people picked up a grown dog from a breeder after forking over $42,000 without first holding in hand, the papers for the dog. The dog is grown, being bought from the breeder, not imported, so no excuses that papers have to catch up from overseas.

Oh, did Freddy find an ad here for this dog? Maybe I missed it.

GSDAdmin, I don't know that he found an ad for the dog he wanted to buy here, as he said that when he went to the seller's kennel he was shown several dogs that day before he selected the one he settled upon [and apparently did not actually get, in the long run] but he did say that the seller frequently ran ads here.

I thought he said he was shown other dogs in order to determine if he was able to handle the one he already bought through a video, since the one he bought was such a 'serious' dog.

Again, if that wasn't the correct dog, then why would he 'help out the breeder' by breeding the dog to a female belonging to a client of the breeder? These are some of the questions a lawyer is going to need the answers to.

English is not my first language, but I understood that he only saw pictures and videos of the dog prior to buying.
When he saw the dog for the first time he already had bought him.
As long as the dog didn´t become a sable although Freddy bought a black dog ( or something similar ) he needs proof.
Think about "pictures and videos made in Germany", and now the dog in the States for maybe 3 months + when Freddy met him... I have seen a lot of dogs change dramatically when sent overseas ...

In case I understood him correctly it´s a German bred dog. In this case he needs to do a DNA test first and foremost - no major problem, not expensive.

It´s not about the amount of money paid in this case - even a $ 500 puppy should be out of the promised parents - no difference,
but, once again, he needs proof, and maybe he is wrong.
