I disagree on what they have been told. What they have been told is if you don't want to read or post in conformation don't. Which is different than what you are saying. They are free to post their opinions but we are going to keep posting that a decent sized group wants this. Not a majority because the majority either don't care or figure lets give it a try and see. People are still here whether they comment or not, logged in or not.
I keep asking-tell me why we should not do this or why we should? I have heard from a limited number of people who want this and it is apparent by the amount of posts and views in that forum.
Just because we give show people a place to talk does that mean everybody else now stops posting and visiting? I don't see it. I see a few people not posting but like with any change it takes time to adjust. I would hope that people can adjust-I know our dogs can and I can't see why their owners can't.
I will say it again, post where you want, keep the personal attacks out and enjoy. Remember a certain amount of people are still not posting because of our stand on enforcing a rule that every one of us agreed to when we signed up.

We are back to the working line people not being happy, but the OT and SL threads bring in the hits and hence the revenue. It is all about website visits and hits, bottom line and that is ok. I think the Conformation Forum is a great idea and is already popular. I am thrilled that Blitzen is happy. Why do you think the "working line people" are the biggest opposition? The site is geared to the Sl folks, the OT folks and pet folks. That is fine, this isn't a working line, or a sports enthusiast forum any longer.
I say stop complaining about the lack of "hits" on the sports enthusiast or "Chaz forum" and let it go for a little while. And stop talking about the opposition by the working line people who really haven't said much at all, historically they are not the issue. Maybe the sport side will pick up. It will take time to get those members back, that's if they haven't found forums more suited to their working line tastes.

In the 4 days since these forums have been added all these people have left and found other places and made up their minds that this is not a working line site or sport site any longer, the whole time we are offering a forum to cover that very thing. *Really* in 4 days time. Wow. I quit.

I still hope that at some point, the two can come together enough to get the breed back to its intended purposes and that would be to be a working dog first and foremost. And if you could consistently get what is considered a beautiful dog, by show standards, that wasn't crippled by loose joints or bad temperament, comformation judging wouldn't be an issue.
I love threads such as this: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/forum.read?mnr=144320 , but there aren't nearly enough. When we can get to a point where this is the norm, that would be a real accomplishment! But for now, it's a sad state when the SL dogs don't work well and the WL dogs don't show well.

So, in those 7 days 2 things happened no personal attacks and the new forums. I rest my case.

You missed the point and twisted what I said. GSDtravels got the point, so it wasn't me.
No, this has not been a working dog forum for a very long time.

Let me repeat-this is a showline forum because we took the show folks and gave them a sub-section?
It is becoming what it is because certain members think the grass is greener on the other side. If more work people posted there would be more work threads, not because we created a sub-section for show people chased the work people away. I can't believe that is what is being said. Because we gave them a sub-section it is affecting this site being a working site?
Wow, I can't even believe I am debating illogical statements.
