Obi is a sable.
That day the angle of the sun and the background color was just right to pull out his dark points.
No photoshop required.

Most of the showline sables hardly look sable at all. Why is this?

Because they typically have a black-tan recessive, making them "pattern" sables. It would be quite rare that they would have a black recessive or be homozygous sable.
