Clarification on WDA members participating in USA events? - Page 7

Unknown, I never said that USA did not have SV judges.  The ones that are I am perfectly fine showing and doing breed survey under.  Not all of them are.  Not saying those are bad judges.  People have different goals.

Bob - yes I want a breed survey that holds up across the pond.  Things can change.

No one mentioned 'give'. USA should offer their services as they allow participation through the WUSV affiliation they have with the GSDCA. What on earth good is it to allow participation in an event where you can't participate?

If USA received 50.00 (or any amount for that matter) for a scorebook from a GSDCA member. Who benefits? A club gets an entry USA gets half a membership fee for a book. Looks win/win to me. Where's the shortcoming?

Dog1:  Maybe you missed my question?  Do you know why WDA requires membership in WDA in order to enter a WDA trial?

Bob, no, but like I said, things can change.  Also as I also said earlier, I'm having a hell of a time finding USA shows/breed surveys near me in the time frames I'm looking for and WDA has lots that are do-able for me, so just based on event scheduling alone I'll most likely end up with an SV breed survey.  I'm not sure if WDA has their own judges?  Every event I've done in that org has been only SV judges flown in (again NOT saying these are better, it is what it is....).

Sue, do you have to be a WDA member to enter their trial?  You don't for most of the shows.  I can't remember if my WDA membership had already lapsed when I did the BH in that org....

The issue is not just entering the shows/trials but obtaining the scorebook.  Sure you can enter events without being a member but I've always had to re-join whatever org in order to obtain the scorebook.  Is that still the case?

I looked on a WDA trial entry form.  There is a different entry fee for  WDA members and non WDA members.  I'd assume from the entry form that non WDA members can compete at WDA trials.

Sorry I missed your post.

Here's the rundown as I understand it. You can show or trial at the local and regional level without WDA membership. The Nationals require WDA membership and GSDCA membership to go to the World.

NASS (Sieger Show) requires WDA membership or a co owner be a WDA member (must be on the papers). This year USA members can enter with an additional fee.

Breed survey, I've heard it both ways, membership required and not required.

You can get a scorebook with or without membership. There is an additional fee if you're not a member.

 come on Bob, you are arguing just for the sake of argument. Why would UScA go to the expense and effort of having their judges SVR if it means nothing. They are ahead of the curve on this and hopefully are working on conformation judges also.


and just for the record, I would not waste time or finances showing/survey under a judge not SV. It's German dogs, a German game and the game is SV.
