Why is it always about "mine" is better than "yours"? My idea is “superior” and everybody should do it as I do it – if you don’t do it my way – I’ll make you do it… People who think that they’re idea IS better than all the other people’s idea - started wars… Some know more about it than others…
You like work line dog with high pray drives – have at it. But don’t tell me that I don’t want to have a real GSD that doesn’t have a high pry drive. What I want is what I want and you want what you want – neither of us is WRONG, we want what is GOOD for US.
I don’t tell you that your high drive dog is a bad dog – I don’t know him – he may be a couch potato for all I know. I don’t judge people by the country they come from, I judge them based on who they are. I apply the same to individual dogs. Telling that German GSD is better than American GSD is like telling that German is better than German Immigrant in America. Is one better than other or just different?
So don’t tell my dog is a bad dog because you don’t know her personally. There are bad examples of dogs in all lines –“ the proof is always on the end of the leash” (as somebody said in another subject) …
Regarding the Sch club – I am breeding my girl soon and I am hoping for my puppy from this litter. My girl proven herself as a mother of very smart and sound puppies with good drives, so I hope that there is MINE in there. I always wanted to do Sch training – just for fun. Few years back, when my girl was younger, the distance and “general atmosphere” around my Am line was very discouraging. So I was doing AKC obedience and agility with her until I had my boys. (It’s difficult to run with your dog when you are 8 months pregnant…) Now when my boys are bigger and don’t need me so much I would love to go back to the “dog” sport and this time go all the way through with it. I want my boys to get a “bug” and do it to in the future. I am looking for the club in Seattle area that would welcome a newbie and help her with training of the pup that doesn’t necessary has “insane” drive. Competition is what gives as adrenaline – but sport should be exactly what it is – sport.
My husband is a bird hunter, so he always checks our dogs to see if they can be gun dogs... He always believed in Springer Spaniels as best bird dogs, but he also realized that a GSD is not a bad bird dog either. Sure there are better breeds to do it, but not a breed that can do it ALL… Isn’t it why we all love GSDs and are proud to own one?

Yes - it is a beauty pageant - it’s a dog show for heaven’s sake not a sport competition and again I will say that in this show the dogs are INVITED. So whoever invited those dogs, thinks they are the best representation of the breed – as always it is pure subjective opinion. They think those dogs are BETTER than others... Why do you think they didn't invite AKC Grand Victors/ Victrix from previous years? Maybe then the SHOW would show Am GSD a little better...

Don -- To each his own. Like I said earlier, each person chooses for themselves. Just because you like GSD's that do Sports, doesn't mean everyone else should. That is really silly -- like trying to control what others SHOULD want and do. Maybe your car is junk or maybe your house is a dump in some people's eyes -- but you selected that Car and you selected that House. But the selection of a GSD (or any Breed) for whatever reason is even more personal to an individual. Who are you to make "fun" of someone's choice of Dog, make disparaging remarks about the Dog, and the purpose for obtaining the Dog?
I asked you previously what work does your dog perform. You did say that you have friends whose dogs perform Schutzhund and also perform work on their farms guarding livestock. That is great for your friends -- but what about your dog(s)?

AM I RIGHT IN ASSUMING THAT JIMMY MOSES ONLY HANDLES AMERICAN S/L? JUST CURIOUS.
He recently put an AKC championship on 2xVA-1 Liedo.

Westminster is not an invite only show. The top 5 dogs are invited (and it is not a person who selects who the "top" dogs are - it is based on rankings of how many dogs of their breed they have beaten in the following year). After that it is open entry for any dog that has finished its championship until the total entry number of 2500 or so is reached.
Back to your annually scheduled debate on Westminster ;-)

My dog is Top-notch in my eyes. Even though he has "high-drive," he is a Pet/Companion. PLUS, he is a gorgeous German Show Line !!
"Hollow Dog" "Doberman with 10" floppy ears" -- WTH is that ??
