why even post if you just going to say negative things? Can't you keep them to yourself? Or just say no and that's it? I mean I am sure you heard the saying if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all! Thanks.

Is that not a bit like the pot calling the kettle black? liz

by MJD80 on 23 April 2009 - 17:04
eh?

by funky munky on 23 April 2009 - 17:04
Never heard that old saying? I'm sure someone will explain. liz

by MJD80 on 23 April 2009 - 17:04
Nah, I never heard it, sorry.

That's a shame, you could try looking it up, it has been used several times on here.

Okay, I wasn't going to say anything, but now I feel compelled to do so.
MJD80:
This is not an attack, but an attempt to help you understand why you are receiving some of the responses you have, negative and otherwise. Your apology has been accepted by some of those with the most personal interest.
1. You wrecked HAVOC on this forum for an entire weekend. In fact, you easily wrecked more havoc on this forum in a single weekend than any four or five others have in any given week. Period.
2. You wrecked havoc at a time when emotions had already reached a high-pitch and were just beginning to go back down.
3. You wrecked havoc at a time when people wondered whether Oli had "abandoned" the forum. We now know that Oli has dealing with a great loss and this is exactly where his attention needed NOT to be.
4. Your actions were so over-board that reasonable people would like an explanation in order to understand WHY you engaged in the conduct you did. I am sure you can see how the idea of someone "going off" and firing off the type of nasty threads you did, in sucession, would worry people. That conduct rather naturally leads to people wondering "what is this guy like in person"? Frankly, it made people wonder whether you were actually dangerous. I know I did and I was simply seeing the myriad threads attacking Sue on the first page. To this minute, I am sure there are individuals wondering where you are located, out of concern for their own safety. This concern leads back to people needing an explanation of the behavior.
5. You repeatedly stated that your attacks were not "personal." How can you say that they were not personal? How do you define "personal"? I ask because your denials make one wonder what you DO consider personal. I know I do, because I had a violent cousin who claimed his verbal attacks were not "personal" solely because they weren't physical.

MJD you attacked me on a thread that has been deleted - you told me to get off the databse. I am not bashing you, currently - Nor am I saying get off the database - I just couldnt understand why you would be on a GSD forum if you dont have it - but I undertand your reason now.... my question was what made you come on here and take over. That is what you did, isn't it...... You where in control - of the entire data base...with the power breeds you own - it seems you do like to have that control... Maybe that was your motive....
"you stated:I am sure would you be able to control a rottweiler, a pit bull, and a german shepherd all by yourself? That is a lot of dog to take care of and my rottweiler weighs about 100lbs or so. " (what does this have to do with anything - including my question)..... and i can handle those breeds myself, if needed, but wouldn't want to cause GSD are my love - I have two.
I was only wonder your motive.....

Liz,
I am pretty sure that the saying is a British/American "thing" and may not be understood by someone who did not grow up in the UK or North America. I could be wrong, though. I recently encountered a born-in-America WASP over the age of 30 who had never seen the Wizard of Oz. Oz references in a conversation were totally lost on her.: someone mentioned a nasty person and their wish for a house to fall on her.
