You know the difference between a top top show dog i.e VA  germany and a top sport dog??? It's like the money make by a CEO and a regular employee!!! Is that clear enough!!!

These two dogs have a bit different experience with helpers. The helper in the first video could not even drive that dog.. he seamed almost hurt to me....the proformance was not all bad because of the dog!!!
I have showline bitch here (not mine) and a working line dog.
Trully the showline dog is so high in prey that we had to put some defence in that girl or she looked totaly lost on the field. The working dog had to be trained more in prey because he was so civil i was more unsure about tho whole liability.
I say dog either has it on doesn't. Some dogs have it more some less, dome do not have it at all. With a help of a GOOD helper who can work ANY dog you can achieve a lot, even if the dog is not very driven. Good helper will find way to bring the best out of a dog or tells you to find another one.
I would not trash any lines cause I have seen working dogs ran off field and I have seen showline trying to eat you alive.

How often have you seen showlines eat you alive and how often have you seen workinglines run off the field. The statement sounds good but the truth is in the details. If 80 percent of showlines WON'T eat you alive, and 80 percent of workinglines AREN'T run off the field, then you statement is not relective of the norm and is misleading. I think all the people who really work dogs know what the norm is for each line....!

This is a perfect example of what I said about whats good for the points or sport arent always good for the breed, If you have to depend on the helper to "get them thru it" for the title what have you done for the breed?

And... that is exactly WHY I look at the individual dog instead of lines. I personaly like working dog ( I have never owned showline) I do not even like the look of show dogs. I know there is much, much better chance to get a nice dog for work out of working line. But I just do not look at the lines when I have dog befor me. I look at the dog.
I have seen Soooooo many working dogs that suck it's not even funny and they suck because people do not know how to train. the biggest one I have seen is locking a dog in prey drive to a point of no return.. and this is why i wonder why those people get working dog.. get a schowline and you do not have to kill the fight in a dog.
Sorry do not mean to take this topic someplace else I just wonder.
And it makes me mad.. getting working line is new Prada, new age of fasion.. HOW many people on this forum even do something with their dogs, how many put Schutz, Ring, PSA, ZVV, IPO Tracking titles on your dogs??? And how many have a working dog because is better dog and do nothing, just talk how much showline sucks..
Ups, I am done...
