I just imported one. The cost for pup, shipping, crate, paperwork, and customs charge came to $1625.00. I then had a friend pick her up and ship her the rest of the way to me as they only do direct flights (Lufthansa) that was another $115.00. It would have been less if I drove but this time of year the roads can be bad so it wasn't worth the risk. The pic doesn't do her justice but she doesn't stand still long enough to get a better shot! The cost in Euro was $800.00 for her and $400.00 shipping,crate etc. Then $25.00 at the airport for paperwork.

Ooops! Just remembered there was another $45.00 for bank transfer. Making my cost $1785.00 with the extra shipping I paid, or $1670.00 w/o.

We sended 3 puppy's from Frankfurt to Dallas/FW with Gradlyn kennels. The price for all, including flybox, paperwork etc. was 570 Euro. Picking the puppy's up would be an extra 300 Euro (one way 300 km) so I don't know what you are all talking about.... do your homework.

Bobby V, I've imported quite a few dogs over the past few years,and have to say that the price keeps going up. These prices listed above INCLUDED the puppy price, and most people who responded list the price in US Dollars $$$, not euros. Everyone here has done their homework, so not to be rude, but you should read the entire post (yes, I realize that English is not your first language) and make sure you understand what is said before replying a somewhat rude post of "so I don't know what you are all talking about.... do your homework.". The price USUALLY includes: 1) international bank wire transfer fee (about 20-35 euros); 2) puppy price (600 euros in this specific instance, which is pretty inexpensive these days! this can range from 500-3000 euros, depending on breeder and dog, especially often higher priced from the well known kennels); 3) transport/kenneling/crate (flybox)/airline costs (about 700 euros, depending on CRATE SIZE (200, 300, 400, etc!)); 4) import Customs broker fee (about 220 euros) or if customs was open when the flight arrived, about 21 euros; 5) international credit card charges (approximately 10 euros); 6)pet passport/international health certificate (50 euros); 7) international phone calls to Germany to speak with the breeder (depends on your service, so anywhere from 5 euros to 100 euros!) So, add that all up, and you get quite a large number to import a pup (or any dog, for that matter!). If I am incorrect, and can get a dog shipped here for less, please let me know how, as I can always use every penny I can save on dog food or something else! LOL :)

Dog1, you have to figure in the beischneigung and AKC foreign dog registration application, because those are not requirements for dog bred and born in the USA. Veronica

This is not a puppy, but my girl is coming home tomorrow after being bred in Germany. That will cost 620 Euros including the crate with PetAir. Customs wants 30 U-$. Chris

I just inquired about a pup from a very well known respected kennel (hint: think Netherlands) and was quoted this for a 5.5 mos old coated pup. The price of this is including the shipping, all vaccinations, health certificate, export pedigree and guarantees $3000,- Guarantees: if no good hips or elbows you get for the price of shipping a new pup from any of my breeding combination. So I think prices have definitely gone up, but then again this is for one of the best...feedback much appreciated as I have never imported anything!

I still think alot has to do with the breeder and to whom they sent the pup too, regarding price and shipping fees. Importing I think would be useless if your not importing the best of the best. JMO.
