If I win, JR, I would like Susie to keep the sculpture and remember how much she is loved by people like me.  A memory of a gift from her heart that is returned to her. A memory.  And then I want her to pack her bags and come back and visit all the people and dogs that love and appreciate her in Texas.  That is my New Years' wish.

Debi and JRansom !
Thank you so much in the name of Shelley.
Probably she right now doesn´t even have the time to see what you are doing for her dogs in need.

Sunshine, thank you for everything. You are the one in a million. And one day I´ll come.

Sunshine, not that I don't want you to have it...I just wish we could get an even bigger bid/donation.  You are very generous!
@ Shelly, thanks for the update.  Hang in there Reba!!  We're all pulling for you.

Me too DebiSue.  I am sure there is someone out there going to outbid me.  I promise not to bid again. Regular Smile

Susie, Du bist immer herzlich Wilkommen. Carpe Diem.Heart

Wow! This is awesome! Thank you SO much Susie for your generous donation and the energy you are putting into raising some much-needed funds for this little operation. You're right, working two jobs, one full-time and one moonlighting, neither of which pays much, AND managing 10+ dogs, does keep me off the boards most of the time. the rescue end of it is incredibly satisfying, but without the jobs and the donations, this little program would be belly up in no time.
...And now for some more GOOD news:

Dr Booth reports Reba IS doing better today, with the IV drugs and supportive treatment she is recieving. She is breathing easier, no longer coughing up blood, and eating a little bit on her own. The Dr wants to keep her till tomorrow night, just to make sure, but unless she takes a sudden turn for the worse, I should have her home on the weekend. :-)

After 5 days of Baytril and Amoxi, 98% crate rest here in my living room/office, Rebel is also feeling better. He is a lot "bouncier" in the front yard this morning, tossing his ball in the air and making silly puppy barks. As I write this, I hear more snoring and puppy dreams than coughing, which is a huge improvement even over yesterday. With luck we'll all sleep through the whole night tonight. (except for me getting up to put wood in the stove).

Sargeant is completely over his bout of Kennel Cough, raising hell in his run watching the farm labor prune the orchard. The only time he quiets down is when one of them goes over and donates a bit of their sandwich to his own personal fund.

All the other dogs are doing just fine. I can't wait till Saturday when I will have lots of time and daylight to work with each one. The orchard is much too deep in mud to lay tracks, but we all know how much GSD's love getting covered in the stuff any chance they get.

Thanks again for all your help.

Glad to hear, Shelley! You are doing an awsome job!

Okay, folks!
This auction is for dogs in need. Right now Shelley has to pay A LOT of vet bills for dogs she neither bred nor owns.
The bid for the cute Shepherd statue is right now on § 300,00.
That´s a lot for a statue, but a nothing for vet bills.
Only 2 days left...

Many thanks to all our friends here on PdB for their generous donations to "The Cause!"

Doc Black wants to keep Reba in the hospital for another 24 hrs., to make sure she is stable enough to continue treatment with only oral medication rather than IV. I could not get a "to-date" quote for the bill this morning, but I trust my vet will be as reasonable as possible, well aware that this is a fledgling rescue op with very limited resources.
I am fortunate to have good veterinary care, reasonably priced, available for the dogs on short notice here in Sutter County. It was one of the luxuries I really MISSED when I lived back East!

By the way, this is the same veterinary hospital that saved T's life with emergency splenectomy two years ago, performed within minutes of a grapefruit-sized hemangiosarcomy rupture. T is doing just fine, no sign of return of the cancer, getting around pretty well at 12 years old, all thing considered.

Sounds like a great guy and you are lucky to have found them.  Vets like that are priceless!  Send them our many thanks for helping you to afford to do what you can in your rescue efforts.  I could just kiss them!
