I was wondering that question myself Mystere!
I am very curious myself now as to "WHAT" is going on with this pup? I'm having a hard time getting my pics to download here. I have pics and updates from "EVERY OTHER " pup out of this litter. One other female is exceptionally large. There are NO complaints on any other pup, and I really don't think Tracey is complaining.
She informed me her dog had a overbite problem a few months ago. To which, I told her "I WILL give her, PICK of my next litter of pups, to compensate.
The dog was sold as a pet, HIP,HEALTH and Temperment guarantee. I DID NOT rerquire proof of underbite, nor did I question the vet. UNDERBITE is not a part of my guarantee, but I still told her I'd give her another pup. KEEP HERS.
I offered a pup out of my last litter, which she was not ready for. I stated NEXT litter, litter after next...WHICHEVER litter...SHE wanted a pup from, is hers.
I'm ready to state, "I'll EAT MY HAT ""if this dog turns out dysplastic!!!
This IS THE FIRST I EVEN HEARD OF A PROBLEM!
HAVE AT ME!!!!!!!

i think he looks very handsome and very well loved - his eyes just show how much you care for him - so congrats on that! he looks like he brings lots of joy to your life. good to see you moved him from puppy food to adult food probably had him growing a bit too fast. one question - how tall is he?
i also have a general question for anyone - at what age do the growth plates close?

Mystere,
Educated guess, it's a kanck I have. And I did read some of the posts on the topic. Actually, I read between the lines.

i thought i would run a search for "growth plates" and found this on an older thread
http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/130885.html#130915
Growth plates for dogs close on the average at:
Proximal epiphysis of the humerus 10 to 13 months
Distal epiphysis of the humerus 6 to 8 months
Proximal epiphysis of the radius 6 to 11 months
Distal epiphysis of the radius 8 to 12 months
Olecranon of the ulna 6 to 10 months
Distal epiphysis of the ulna 8 to 12 months
Proximal epiphysis of teh femur 7 to 11 months
Trochanter major of the femur 6 to 10 months
Trochanter minor 8 to 13 months
Distal epiphysis of the femur 8 to 11 months
Lateral condyle of the tibia 6 to 12 months
Distal epiphysis of the tibia 8 to 11 months
Proximal epiphysis of the fibula 8 to 12 months
Distal epiphysis of the fibula 7 to 12 months
i also read 14 months - so i guess it's safe to say all growth plates plate ought to be closed by this age.

She listed the pedigree on the dog kitkat and you have a user comment claiming him to be your dog . I knew that as soon as I checked out the pedigree link Nael listed ..Jim you read the lines ..LOL not between them

I am totally confused. That is not the dog I saw in the first avitar..That other dog was quite a bit chunkier and bigger around than this dog you just put up.
I guess my mind and my eyesight are failing.
This dog is leggy and is slender and is ok..The dog in the other avitar was black and heavy.
Must be why everyone responded so negatively about your feeding it too much...This is not the same dog.

YellowRose,
That IS the same dog. She sends me regular updates on ZACH. I don't think she is telling any stories. The avatar pic was from several months ago. I KNOW, that is ZACH. I've watched him grow. She is already getting another pup from me. It's just a matter of 'which dog, she will get.'That is her option.'
I seriously think she just don't know what to believe. There are WAY Toooo many vets, offering opinions on "what they do not know' I have NO PROBLEM what-SO-EVER, what concerns she has.
I cannot get my pics to post. I have pics and e-mails from ANY-AND EVERY one that EVER got a pup from me.
AND I WILL GUARANTEE EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM!!!!!!!
ps... I have 5 female German Shepherds, all AKC registered. all come in heat at various times. Ain;t bred a dog since last July. I could. I JUST Havn't...

Does the advice "change" because it's my dog???I guess the posts will tell!!!!
ps, I'm not afraid to state that is my dog, regardless of what "TIME WILL TELL"
