.....all without breaking the line of descent from Horand

“The line of decent from Horand”. Sounds like the Di Vinci code.

???  Chris, 'decent' and 'descent' are two totally different words. And it's the Da Vinci code, though I'm not sure what that has to do with the GSD.

Look back to KCzaja's posts, she gives the best possible examples... with pics!  If you've never tried working a showline at any time, with or without success... don't comment like it's cut and dried.

I know you love to think you can corner and bully, Christopher... find another, I'm no victim!

When some of us on PDB (and others) emailed the BBC to try to get them to support us in our quest to make it compulsary for all breeding stock to be surveyed (to inc a working test) and health checked before allowing any progeny to have the KC's crappy (but it's better than nothing & it's a start) enhanced pedigree, you Bancroft, were not atall interested in helping... when did you change your mind? When it got a litle tight for you on here? From your other thread.

Sorry 4pack, didn't read the post(er) properly!  Sch 3 is unusual for German show lines in a bitch, they're seldom more than Sch1... because they have to be!  What was the outcome please?

For me showing and working GSDs are a separate breed. I think this is for the best and I hope it stays this way,

Ok, this is all I've read in this thread, and I have to comment: NONSENSE.  You don't do the breed any favors with this attitude. Neither the "working" side nor the "show" side.  I see more people trying to breed a good-looking dog that works whereas a lot of "working line" people breed extremely physically faulty dogs that look Nothing like GSD, past or present, but they excuse it because it's "working."  A breed needs BOTH sides, structure and working ability, to be the best it can ultimately be.

I will say that when working dogs on a field I do NOT discrimnate against breeding, as long as the dog want to work and is happy doing so.

How big of you.  Isn't not discriminating on the field the Least you can do?

No kennel who breeds to win ribbons will outcross onto working lines

This simply is not true.  How can you say such blanket statements?
