Hiya all, i thought i might continue on the thread of two day shows, i'm sure you all have your favourites, so lets hear about them. I would like to start the ball rolling with my own particular one. I have been very lucky at most two day shows, but nothing will ever eclipse 1984. It took place at Weston Park on the the 16th and 17th of June. Nothing has even come near to it since. I remember the Saturday morning, the great anticipation of the Exhibitors, you need to remember this was the first two day show, this was our SIEGER SHOW. The committee had worked tirelessly during the preceding year, nothing was left to chance, history tells us they were spot on. They are too numerous to mention, but they had the thanks, and also the affection and RESPECT of the exhibitors. The entry was the icing on the cake, they had secured two judges both at the top of their game, Bo Nyman males, and Jean Leysen females. The sun shone brightly they started their selection process, both men fascinating to watch ,exhibitor or spectator alike, oh yes there were lots of spectators. The classes took an age to complete, but these were men who knew what they were looking for. Slowly the pattern emerged, Bo pulls out Longvale Octavius, followed by Acresway Gundo, Longvale Legacy next. What a trio ,all later Champions. The class of fifty two minor puppies was finished, what a spectacle. In the bitch ring Leysen was just as enthralling his first three being Shercoz Sorrenna, who just outfought another super female Bedwins Helga.(who was to die tragically shortly afterwards) owned by my friend and fellow scouser Tony Hughes. Third was Hausfroeng Oriole. There were sixty females presented. It was now time for some refreshment most of the Breed Clubs had hospitality tents , so the long walk began, first stop had to be the GSD of Scotland, Big John Young a giant of a man in both size and personality, we shared a few jars, then and many times later, a great man who leaves a big shadow. Making our way back to the rings we pay our respects to Bill and Marjorie King at the GSD of Wales tent, two great stalwarts of the breed. Puppy Dog was just as exciting to watch with forty dogs in the ring, the Ogus de Columbo son Dawnway Callipso finishing ahead of Kurtlee Maybe, and Frabern Gundo of Vornlante. In the bitch ring Leysen had fifty eight exhibits to assess, his final three being Silkenwood Celli Royvons Geisha, and Calypso of Anjou. As i stated in my previous post both ccs were taken by the junior winners, Muscavas Rocky being called out in first place as was Jupaala Franci. The second and third in males were Roy vons Arab and Emmevale Erko. There were forty eight males in junior. In Franci's class of sixty three the second and third wereFairycross China Doll followed by Quilla of Gayville. I drove home absolutely elated, promising Malcolm i would return the following day for the Ogus progeny group, never imagining the drama that would unfold. My next piece will tell of the highs and lows of the second day.

Liz, the only one I had was a while back, asking me what my problem is? Bless!!
I'm enjoying this thread a lot but I can't stay awake late... old age!
My favourite 2 day was Wales 199... something, we "camped" in Maureen Kemp's Royal C van and were a little too far gone to remember how we got so many bruises!!
I enjoyed Scotland this year because we had great company... mostly Irish, really good crack!!
