exercises WITHOUT the 'complicated controls / distractions' of a Sport-based
training. IME people who train for Security work - if they are any good & not
just fly-by-nighters - take these issues seriously. They do think about it in
advance so that it becomes a properly conceived and executed Test; and they
do ensure they have an Out.

Stressful situations do come at a cost.
By that I mean - if you are looking for a perfect bite, put the dog on a sleeve and present the sleeve at the correct angle to ensure a good full grip, and definitely do not empty 10KG of CO2 on him.
Re the dog outing, absolutely nothing wrong with that, he re engaged.
You will see excellent operational police dogs do exactly the same thing, that is a by product of the dog fighting for it's life. (never pretty or perfect, but then that's not relevant, what is relevant is the dog consistently engaging - ESPECIALLY when STRESSED)
More importantly - will a dog engage if faced with a new discomfort, in this case - temporarily impairing vision/scent/auditory.
Boris certainly did engage, now what that indicates to me is - his desire to fight rather than take flight is - greater.
Finally, whether a dog is in prey drive when it bites your nuts or in defense, will make absolutely no difference to the pain you will feel.
So for me my friend, the question is - will the dog consistently engage - yes Boris will.
Would the vast majority of dogs out there do like wise under the same stress - unfortunately not.
(There are of course many that can/do, but unfortunately they are the minority)

Gee

how about you guys train yr own dog any way you want, and I will train mine the way I want, I got no problem with the way my dog works and I really don't care how yours does.....and you could even start your own threads about your own dogs.
yogi, the only thing you could say to me was out your dog, out your dog, control, control, control...now yr saying more pressure, more pressure, more pressure...do you even know what you post??
could be worse, we could all be getting our kicks at how petty our dogs trot in a circle in the show ring.

Some of those "petty dogs trotting around in circles" can make your own dog look pretty insignificant, vk.

I didn't say one of my dogs, vk. I only have one video of one of my dogs doing bitework at the sieger and I have no intentions of posting that here. I said there are showlines who are more impressive than your dog appears to be on the videos you have posted here and there are. I've seen them as have others.

Yogi, one of those - if you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch.
