Which is why, once again, i have a problem with those that equate sport with real world.
An IPO track is not real world tracking where a suspect is running through back yards and over fences and across streets on hard pavement.
That is a totally different kind and as i alluded to earlier, the RCMP does it best.
Tracking on other people's land can get you arrested, dogs are not allowed in parks here and if they are, 6 foot leash only.
Dont even think of any bite work or using any corrections and dont even go to what would happen if you use a prong.
Society is becoming too civilized to deal with our biting dogs, i said this 1000 times.

Hired Dog and Booboo,

Just curious, looking back 3, 4, or 5 generations, what titles or accomplishments would one find on your current dogs' pedigrees?  Was it agility, rally, or other disciplines that attracted you to them or do they have no "titles" of any kind?

And, Hired Dog, what is your employment or vocation where your dog applies his "real world" training?

Kevin, i have zero interest in papers or pedigrees, i have a deep and abiding interest in what a dog can do in terms of work today.
So, if i were interested in a rally dog, i would look for drives in that sport. If i were interested in agility, i would look for that, alas, i am not.
I need and must have a dog with very serious hunt drives as well as prey and some defense. Now, to me, what difference does it make if the dog came out of 364 world champions or the 2 mutts down the street, so long as it can work? I depend on a dog to make a living and to make sure people do not get hurt Kevin, that's it. If you want to continue talking about this, return my PM, you can even call me if you want.

No need to continue as we agree on those points including use of mutts, unpapered, untitled, etc.... for your self described "real work."  I was just curious from where the MAJORITY of such dogs were spawned including yours.

Good point Kevin now let me ask you where did all those great dogs with ipo titles in their ped come from, what were these dogs doing in order to have the right stuff to get these illustrious titles..... HUH Kevin?

Let me help you Kevin NONE of them had titles or papers.

Thank you for your kindly reply Kevin. I have no idea where those dogs come from, being a malinois person, i have gotten dogs from KNPV and NVBK lines. Non were registrable, but, i do remember when i first started in dogs, asking someone about papers and he looked at me as if i had horns on my head. You and i both know sir that when a patrol dog bites or a detection dog alerts, papers account for nothing. Have a great day!
