I just have 1 working line male gsd pup (15mo) right now. He lives primarily in the house, but also has a kennel. I do it this way for myself because I enjoy having him around me! I am retired so I don't leave him alone too much, but when I do I put him up in his kennel. We are in the process of buying some acreage in Washington state & hope to have our home built & move up within the next year or two, so I will be able to have more dogs.

So wonderful to finally see an interesting thread! :-) Thanks 4pack... Currently have 8 little rug rats...6 pups and 2 adults. 1-female, intact working lines, Champ von Kretzschauer Land and Charly vom Kannenhof granddaughter. 1-male, neutered - working lines Charly vom Kannenhof son(daughters pet) 6 little buggers - working lines Female - starting her in SAR work, lives in the house most of the time, but outdoors in fenced yard during the day. Wonderful dog, very social. male - same as female, but not the SAR part. He sleeps with my daughter. Pups live in house as well, crated for feeding and night time. I'm in the process of moving and building huge pole barn with indoor/outdoor runs. Will have 3 acres total, with 1 acre fenced in for dogs to exercise and training. I would LOVE to get into SchH, have always loved it, but can never find a decent, friendly club in my area who is patient with a beginner. (So sick of hearing my dogs are crap because it's not their lines)! :-(
