most of the other people who concentrate solely on these colors do nothing with their dogs, not even a simple OFA.

I don't shun these dogs for their color but their horrible breed quality. Uber Lands dogs are good quality but they were bred for "quality" not color. I don't get how that is so fing had to understand?

The reason some of the colors were not in the breed standard is because of the ignorance of the day - whites where thought to "cuase" dilutions in color, for example. I believe livers were thought to have other health related defects. We know now that neither of those premises are true. In fact, if one actually WANTS to say that the breed standards should not change - then whites should be allowed, as they used to be accepted.
Clearly, when disqualifications are based on superstition and not fact, and when science shows us that the the differently colored dogs are not inferior - there is nothing left to argue but entrenched bigotry, IMO.
I agree with Uber Land - health and quality, tests and proper breeding practices need to be followed by all breeders, but color as a disqualification is a disservice to the breed overall.

I have yet to see one of these so-called "rare" dogs being bred with at least SG quality structure, performance titles, and completely free of genetic health problems or any other disqualifying fault (dentition, ears, testicles, etc.). Find me a few and prove to me that they are of comparable quality physically and mentally to dogs who currently meet the standard, and you'll never hear me complain about color again. I double dog dare you.
You don't hear me complain too much about coats because I have seen many, many of them with exceptional structure, great health, and fabulous temperament. If and when the SV accepts them again I look forward to what they could bring to the breed. Can't say I say the same about these rainbow doggies, as I have yet to meet one that makes that impression.

Oh yeah, this one is really funny!!!!!! Standards???? We don't need no stinkin standards!!!!! Just like we don't need no stinkin conformation ratings or breed surveys or working trials to determine whether or not a dog is suitable for breeding!!!! Just ask LuvDemDogs because he had a little smart dog so he knows.
