Thank you, Sunshine. You, your father, and Galy are still in my heart.

Die letzten Jahre waren schwer, vor einigen Monaten ist Frank gestorben.
Ich hoffe, er ist irgendwo mit deinem Vater und wir sehen sie irgendwann wieder.
Zeit der Trauer, nicht des Hundesports.

j. Basler, were did you find the artist ??? I searched for days,,,

Not so sure re J Basler's Henn Forge provenance...that appears to be a pottery & wrought iron workshop in the US which makes/made primarily dishes, bowls, candlestick holders, and the like. No mention of any sculpture other than that done with wrought iron--nothing sculpted.

There is, however, a German sculptor, Ulrich Henn [b. 1925], that I believe is a more likely artist.  I have not been able to find an example of his signature, nor any piece similar to this one, but he is still alive and still working in his studio in Germany.

It couldn't hurt to contact him via his webpage and see if he can fill in any background on this piece...  J Basler's Henn Forge did eventually lead me to Ulrich Henn, so it was quite helpful!

Awesome Sunshine...your Eischa was a beauty...I'm sure she is proud.

by sunshine on 03 January 2013 - 03:01

Thank you DebiSue.  Eischa was a dog out of abuse and neglect who I adopted when she was 2 years of age.

Update on Reba, admitted to the hospital in critical condition this morning with acute pneumonia, labored respiration, persistent fever.
She is resting more comfortably this evening, recieving IV antibiotics. Her fever has been reduced to 102.5, hydration sufficient..
This evening the hospital staff are awiting the results of further testing cautiously optimistic. Hopefully having reduced the demand the fever was putting on her very frail body will allow her to use her caloric intake for repairand recovery rather than bare survival.
thank you all for your care and concern.
Rebel is doing much better, no need for hospitalization!
