Hi,
I don't want to hijack the post but I was wondering if I can use PANACUR BS with my dogs? And if yes, what is the dose?

Just back from the vets. He says I have myself a nice healthy, well behaved, little man. Fecal was clear, sent me home with Flagyl. Temp still normal, everything normal except the full appetite.

Thanks for the support everyone!

You know I am not a freak about taking dogs to the vet. After I had my Parvo episode, I will be wary about those types of symptoms from now on. It was not fun to watch the dog be so sick and it was very expensive.

Glad he is OK

Good to hear 4pack.

Me?  I run my to the vet any time any little thing doesn't look right.  I'm a worrier when it comes to the "kids".

Glad that he is feeling better.   Scary to see those symptoms, especially the diarrhea shooting out the butt like that.

Over the winter at the clinic I worked we had the first confirmed case of parvo that I had seen there.  This puppy was SO SICK!  She pulled through though after several days on fluids and meds.  We weren't sure if she was ever going to turn the corner.  The vet I worked for took her home for the nights to keep watch on her.  Then all of a sudden she turned the corner and now she's a little terror!  Well, not so little, she looked like a mini golden.  Was a rescue from Virginia I think.  We are located in NJ and usually don't see any cases of Parvo or Distemper.  Just by the fact that most animals in the area are vaccinated.  Same goes for heartworm, most are on prevention, so just don't see much of it.  Though there are plenty of mosquitos in the warmer months.

GARD interesting your dog had Parvo when she was around a year old.

We went thru a bacteria overgrowth with Jami about that age, metronidazole works great. Still make sure he drinks water with this medication. I am also that before you got him to the vet you used pedialyte for electrolyte replacement. It is good stuff too. It is finally going to be a little warmer today.
Always,
cee
