THANKS SO VERY  MUCH FOR THE DOZEN  RED ROSES     On my  diningroom table............................

"Open your heart and your eyes to your dog and he will tell you how to train him

There are many ways to the top of the mountain....Choose one>>>>

Great dogs are bred first, then trained

"Trainability is what makes the
German Shepherd dog the GSD. Why train with an anchor around your neck?

AND HERE WE ARE AT THE POTPOURRI HOUSE, IN  Tyler , Texas   Ken with his horn, Gsdtravels with the tamborines, and Yellowrose with a song for the Romantics at heart., Lionel Richies   "Still"

Baby , Baby, Baby , You can Have my  Private Number

I worked at this marvelous place for three years. Ken and Bob have played here for 15 years and if any of you ever come to Tyler, please visit the Potpourri house and be sure to stay for dinner and dancing.   THe most wonderful house salad is Spinach with Poppyseed dressing and Strawberries with slivered almonds.

Ask for the head chef, Rotella and tell him  The German Shepherd lady said for him to fix your meal to your special request.  Bring plenty of suitcase room for lovely new specialties from the gift shop , or dresswear from the Boutique.  Gsdtravels walked out with a whole weeks paycheck in beautiful clothes for her daughters wedding.

I'm in a fleabag motel in Mobile Alabama.  Glad Drake had his flea treatment!  I thought Super 8 and Comfort Inn were dog friendly, found out differently!  Had to stay at not-the-cleanest-place-in-town, good thing I packed disinfectant!  I want to go back and stay with YR .

Okay, seriously now, YR was the best hostess in the world.  She made me feel so at home I now consider her family, I mean that.  She opened her home to me and welcomed me in such a way as I have never experienced.  We laughed, we played with the dogs, we traveled around and out of town, we ate (mostly ice cream, yeah!) and then we laughed some more.  She's a fantastic cook and wonderful company.  The only bad thing she did was try to steal my dog!  She was whispering to him this morning, trying to talk him into staying with her.  I had to drag him to the car, kicking and screaming,  The lazy bum is now hogging most of the bed and he's snoring, maybe I should have considered her offer!
So, sadly this will end the first adventure with YR but I'm hoping it won't be the last.

Thank you YR, for everything, I had the time of my life!!  I'll send pictures from the beach when I get there.  Long road trip tomorrow, hoping to get some sleep so I can pull out early.  All of the cousins have gathered and I'm the last arrival so I'm hoping to get there when there's still daylight.

Good night and thanks again!

Repost of other post..could not edit..took too long to wait for bar...got to go to bed..!!!

I can truly say, that I miss GSDtravels, and the house seems empty without her wit and busying around getting things done and whipping up scrumptious desserts for us to eat with our icecream;  Rasberry cobbler, and fried chicken breasts rolled in Cornflakes. It was a wonderful visit from the first minute she stepped out of her car with Drake..

Drake got a new environment to stay in for a while..He got a roughhouse deluxe from me, and he was so good in my home. He ran right by the sofa table lines with crystal, french end tables stacked with books, goodies , candle sticks, flowers, artificial plants in elephants, and lion vases...He never knocked any thing over.

Drake wont eat just any treat, only liver treats or meat off my plate. He was a ball of bark and hold and loved to rummage thru Gsdtravels socks, belongings and my collection of Beanie Babies, and runs to the kitchen and deposits them for you to see.

He has great obedience and is a big headed hunk of a German Shepherd.  I guess when I couldnt sneak Tzar home in my suitcase, I also missed in stealing Drake. I tried hiding him but he kinda likes traveling in the car and he decided he wanted to ride to his next destination in style.

Last night  Gsdtravels comes inside and says, are we ready to go to town for water?   I have to buy or gather water as I have wellwater and will not drink it. I said yeah..When I exited the back door, I immediately saw a BIG RED GLOW coming from  the direction of GSDtravels car.  SHe had strung a set of tiny red bulb christmas lights inside the roof of her car.  I burst into laughter and we drove to the nearest wALMART.

We shopped till we dropped, but it was still daylight when we left, barely,,and I rolled down my passenger window and Yelled...MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL. and waved to everyone in the parking lot..I dont know if the TYler Police Dept got any calls or not , but we did make it home , with pains in our sides , from laughing.

This was only one episode in our two week visit..I could write a book and now my house is  EMPTY..I slept all day , after washing one load of dishes in the dishwasher.

Gsdtravels got to witness something I have never , ever in my life, done. About four days ago , I just started stacking the dirty dishes in the sink and rinsing around them and going on with our visits, tours, and fun.. Kennels and dogs had to be fed,,,at midnight.,, and the rain kept us messed up in our schedules, so I decided one night...LEts see how long we can eat and drink without washing dishes....kinda fun thing we did there..I told her,,no one would ever believe I did that...My two cockers also did not get groomed and still today did not get a bath or groomed...

We had such a good time running and laughing and shopping and eating out and on the road having fun...Drake got to see a lot also..
He had to learn to share time outside with a short fuse, as there are 13 more doggies that had to be let out and he couldnt stay out very long..He didnt care., he liked being the boss in the house.
GSDtravels got to be big Buddy to Laredo and got use to him after the third day. Abbey was her favorite and Rex played games with her, just like Drake. Now Rosie and Dieter were a different story. Marino tried to break out everytime he saw her going accross the place, and Pepsii vocalized a Texas howl with every bone in her body..I noticed after I explained the Copperheads are about to rear their ugly presence, GSDtravels no longer went down the hill with me to the kennels..

I have to remember to wear my boots now as spring is sprung..The dogwoods are beautiful but with them and the azaleas , and tulips and narcissus and the weeds and wildflowers , come snakes and bees.
