All man has feet of clay, which is why we should keep our eyes pointing upward. Thanks for the posts, they have given me something to think about. :)

Beetree,
I was pleased when you first mentioned the book, it's the first time I thought I know what someone is on about in this thread (albeit I don't of course know what you're thinking). Definitely worth a read, and quite complex in many ways, open to be read/interpreted in many ways and not easily satisfying like some of the drivel out there.

Beetree,
Gideon is stuck by...like his author.. that to be alive, is to ask questions
about life. Robert is an agnostic, but a Presbyterian agnostic. Very interesting
because when I was 22 years old, I looked around as I sat in the pew in church
with my wife. And realized that only about 1/3 of the people in attendance really
believed in God. They were Agnostic, but Methodist agnostics.
Here is some thing I think you may find interesting. Albert Pike, who wrote Morals
and Dogma, the Mason's bible if you will. He was the only confederate solder to
be honored in Washington DC. There is a statue of him. And at the base... is a plate
that shows his Birth date and his death date.
AD being Anno Domni.....at his birth......But at his death date is Anno Lucifer..or AL.

Dex,
The God (Father), the God Jesus Christ (Son).
The Son came to earth because his father send him to earth.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
If you don't like what God (Father) did in Old Testament, that is why he is God he makes the rules. And whether you like or not, ONLY two options Light OR Darkness
NO third OPTION available.
speeding in a car as fast as I can though, meaning you don't think what happens when you die.

I' am wondering if Two Moons will respond to Shtal's post about that Earth is not billions of years old.
I guess Two Moons cannot run away from truth.

Yes, Shtal We Give God The Glory
A song I am ask to sing quite often is entitled MY Tribute
How can I give thanks, for all the things you have done for me,
Things so undeserved,
Yet you gave to prove your love to me
And the voices of a million angels
could not express my gratitude
All that i AM AND EVER HOPE TO BE
I owe it all to thee
To God be the Glory
To God be the Glory for the things he has done.
With his blood he has saved me
with his power he has raised me To God be the glory , for the things he has Done.
Just let me live my life '
Let is be pleasing Lord to thee
and should I gain , any praise... LET IT GO TO CALVARY.
Dedicated to my love PEPSII.........MY SABLE GIRL

Max,
What do you think about the idea that God just got disgusted and bored with the whole human lot and just left this mess we call life, all up for grabs, leaving the devil unopposed, so to speak?
Muldoon,
Ahhh, so good to hear someone else thought that book was a provoking read. I would bet you also probably read, "The Life of Pi", by Yann Martel? This is a great book that leaves you pondering, well after you've put it down .... if you haven't you should!
