RPK:  It's called the Generation Gap, and every generation eventually bemoans the fate of the next "lost" generation.  Not sure why you are concentrating on what Bill Cosby, a comedian,  has to say about the younger generation, as if what he says somehow proves anything, but surely you are aware this is merely a typical phenomenon  old people ALWAYS at one time or another end up bitching about.  How about Richard Nixon when addressing the issue of mounting dissent against the war when he said: “If a vocal minority... prevails over reason and the will of the majority, this Nation has no future as a free society....".  Maybe you remember what Spiro Agnew said in regards to the young people protesting the war:  "It is time for America’s silent majority to stand up for its rights.... America’s silent majority is bewildered by irrational protest--and looking at the sullen, scruffy minority of student protesters... [who seem to] prefer the totalitarian ideas of Mao or Ho Chi Minh....”   Not as verbose or as entertaining as Cosby, I'll grant you that, but still along the same basic lines. 

Not at all sure what your point is with regards to crime statistics, I'm not sure what you think it proves.  Anyway, it turns out a person's race has nothing to do with violence.  Violence is a direct result and byproduct of poverty.  I recommend you read The Mismeasure of Man, if you really want to educate yourself on the issue.

Some of you really need to spend a day in a ghetto.  It would be a lesson you'd never forget and would teach you more than you'll ever learn on the news.

I'm so glad to hear you say that maggs, since Bill Cosby in his book "Come On People "  which he co-wrote with Dr. Alvin Poussaint, and was published in 2007, attributes issues of crime within the black community primarily to poverty and a lack of education.  Of course you must know Bill Cosby voted for President Obama, right?

Maybe you need to take a look in your own back yard maggs.  The poor whites of Appalachia  are plagued by the exact same issues, a crime rate that is spiraling out of control, illegal and rampant drug use (oxy-contin, methamphetamine).  These issues directly relate to the abject poverty, dismal occupational and educational opportunities in the community.

Rayray, I hate to spoil their fun, but your supposed friends  are only trotting out those tired and lame old stereotypes because they  know exactly how to push your buttons, they know exactly how to elicit a spastic, foam-at-the-mouth reaction from you.  Believe me, they are laughing at you, not with you.  Obviously they  consider you to be as big a loser buffoon as we do, and the only reason they even tolerate you is for their  entertainment.

For anyone to advance the hypothesis that problems of the ghetto are race-based instead of poverty and discrimination-based is amazing.  You would have to have missed over 50 years of research.  How old are you and when did you stop reading? 

Or did you just let Glen Beck empty your head and fill it with pudding?

I must also admit that for many of you to poke fun at the way uneducated urban black kids speak is somewhat funny.  You don't realize how you sound to educated people, I suspect.
