Please buy a thermometer you need it just a simple baby rectal one is good

The reason I don't want a thermometer is because I have to stick it up my dogs butt. she gets super stressed when they do that at the vet, she growls and tries to bite so they have to put a muzzle on her and 2 people hold her down while another vet takes her temperature. I just don't want her really stressed right before she gives birth.

Sorry that she has such a problem with it, could you try one that takes the temp in the ear.

After she has the pups you will need to take the temp to make sure no infection is starting from the birthing process.

Her temp has dropped, she will not eat, she is digging non stop and her belly dropped. I think she might have her puppies tonight! should I stay up tonight? It's so nerve racking!

How good are you to hear her move if you take a quick nap. Can you sleep next to her.

If you can get some rest now would be great. Can some one else watch her while you nap for a few hours.

Mine like to have them after midnight not all just most.

Good morning, she did not have her pups last night but she has all the same signs as last night and her temp is still down. Could she have them in the day time?

Yes, that's possible, but most breeders will tell you a night time birth is more common.

Labour generally begins 12 to 24 hours after the bitch's temperature drops.

Yes she could have them in daytime, there is no law that says they have to start coming after dark (although they often do !). Have you notified your vet this litter is imminent, in case you suddenly need to call for help ? There is always a possibility she may need a ceasar.
