As far as having a setup to whelp that is suitable, I sure do! You acknowledged the female was stressed with the other dogs near the door. How about not allowing other dogs near there? How about not keeping her in a crate? How about not turning her out with other boarding dogs for 2 hours away from her pups?
"She truly loves animals, but she comes from a country where dogs run loose in the streets, and the standard of care is totally different. Breeding and whelping are not as carefully supervised as they are here."
Then perhaps she should educate herself on proper animal care before breeding, you think?! Such a lousy excuse. I come from an area where dogs are bred to fight, so its okay if I do the same?

Judgment is a great thing when you do the judging, not so great when you are being judged by a bunch of people with nothing better to do. I guess it is the state of the state and it reflects poorly on those judging especially when no ones house is squeaky clean.
Sunsilver - I am never amazed here. Pretty much seen it all. It sure is a part of the dog world I can do without. It is why I will own dogs but that is where it ends for me. To many judgmental people, IMHO. I am sorry some members do not appear to have an ounce of compassion for each other and most would turn on you and each other in an instant, seen it and want no part of it. Do the best you can and ignore those who spend hours and hours here looking for any drama they can find.

No one is perfect, but this is total redneck dog raising. Inexcusable for someone who has been in dogs for so long.

Says who? You, lol. Okay. Leave Sunsilver alone. You don't like it and can't figure out how to be helpful without being hurtful, then keep your trap shut and move on to your next drama fix.

There have been 3 litters of puppies successfully whelped in this house under pretty much identical conditions, and no mom ever ate her pups!
I've had 2 sets of tenants who whelped litters in the very small 2 room basement apartment here. Only difference was the female was owned by them, and they knew the dogs on the other side of the bedroom door.

Maybe some more helpful advise for the female and her remaining pups would be better???
