for someone who does not want to discuss biblical issues you sure seem to spend a lot of time telling people your views, always ending in a variation of "i will not discuss it here" can you please give an example scoffing?

see here is the problem, you claim an old earth shatl and others claim a young earth 6000-10000 years there abouts, you both beleive in the infallibility of scripture, you both can't be right even within a margin of error. shtal's whole theology falls apart if the universe is old, he can not and will not accept it nd will defend his believe which is completely counter to yours till his last breath, what is the opne minded questioning person supposed to believe?

LF - don't put me in hospital for saying this but, nobody here has tried to disprove anything, actually the complete opposite, speaking for myself i am trying to find anything at all that looks like evidence for your magic man in the sky or as nobody has found/provided any  i would suffice with just a good argument. the theists have ridiculed and mocked evryone and evrything in defence of their faith bubble, anyone caan read the threads to confirm where the spite and hate comes from.

as for the wasting your life debating comment, i find the genesis of the universe quite an interesting question and pursue it from muliple angles, theism being just one of them, i will never rule out the possibility of a creator as equally i would never try and disprove one either, wasting time is trying to disprove a negative, you can not disprove my statement that there is an invisible unicorn standing next to you right now.

joan most non-beleivers came to their non-belief BECAUSE they  read the bible, it's history and supporting documents in depth and took it very seriously - that is the surest way to create an atheist in fact.

the knowledge most believers have is typically superficial and they just inhereited the theism of their community/culture without question, some read more apologetics than scripture to prop up their beliefs.

I am not an atheist but from what I was shown, it is different than we have all been taught. I honestly don't care whether you or anyone else agrees or belives what I am saying. I know what I know. My whole thing is to spread the little I know.

Gsd Admin , you may be right, as I stated, the BIBLE does not set out to prove how old anything is...by word of the scripture you take the knowledge gained within all of the pages, study it, and yes  VKr4 we do have studies that we use the Hebrew and Greek, just like when you go to BIBLE college..or seminary..these books are in our Church libraries, and I do not care to labour over how old the earth is..WHY ? THE Bible is to guide all people , as a faith based belief in a Supreme Being who created all, and is all and over all...Omnipotent...No vk4 , why would I even try to discuss things out of context and not study the whole BOOK or come together with a group of older knowledge ministers or scholars of the BIBLE , which is who you go to for help to learn the BIBLE and to learn how to put into your life.

Joan, THE word Christian..means of Christ.   That is all I can say for your question..ONLY you or any one knows what you are by your life , your actions and your own hearts desires and beliefs. GOD asks that you treat others like you want to be treated and, acknowledge Him and accept Him in your life, and  in Love you share the Gospel. Todays world is so filled with evil and wrong doings, and there is punishment for wrong doings by parents and by GOD as we are his children, ALL these things are described and given to man to follow if he chooses. IT is all in the Book.  I choose to believe it and I choose to accept what is written and try to better myself and to learn all I can..it is like seeing the joy, good brings instead of bad. It is a hunger to learn more if you have dedicated yourself to be faithful to serve > I cannot answer for those who use the name , and do evil things, and in that name kill or cause rebelious happenings, nor can anyone else.

Just because you park your vehicle in a garage does not make it a car..it may be a truck or a bus...and may not fit in the space. Same with people or groups who are false teachers and call themselves Christians...and they know who they are...

NO , vk4 , I only share things I think need to be shared, I am not here to prove you wrong just write what I want to share as my feelings on a certain subject. We do pray about things in our lives and prayer is an important part of belief and becoming bonded to our Heavenly Father..like we bond to our german shepherds..IF you have no conversation with either , you have no bond, and if you leave your shepherd to do for himself, you have a dog out of condition and left very lonely.  JUST an example..we pray with each other also and that is a very comforting part of serving together .

The big difference Rose is our German shepherds are real live animals and not some unseen unknown man made story. That is the bottom line Rose you must take a huge huge leap of faith if you want to believe. I choose not to believe what is taught because I have seen things in a near death situation.
