"At the new england regionals Gizmo scored 85 in protection with terrible grips. That kind of performance will not win!"
Uh, hello - a bad tracking or obedience score will kill you just as fast in the final standings...3 phases, remember? If you fail tracking and get perfect 100s in obedience AND protection, you still don't win. I get your point about terrible grips not winning, but scoring 85 in any phase probably will keep you off the podium.

hehe no way to get on the podium with 85 ,and yes it takes 3 phases to win

Good luck to all dog/handler teams that made it through all 3 phases on Saturday. I am sure Sunday will be a big day and wish those in the sport only the best.
Congratulations to Jim and Xablitz on their first USA Nationals. Could not happen to a better man/dog team in my humble opinion. The dog is a housedog.
