ShelleyR

by ShelleyR on 23 December 2009 - 20:12

I won't get on the road for a few more days. It all starts with the ride to VA. After that things will move pretty quickly. Surely SOMEBODY on here knows SOMEBODY heading down I-81/Route 15.
If I don't find a ride by Saturday I WILL dress warmly, stick my thumb out, and pray there are no borderline necrophiliacs trolling the neighborhoods and interstates between me and my destination. Chances are all I'll get is COLD, but hey... Its not like there's a bus stop at the end of the driveway.

Can't believe T and Xena just let me devour a pork chop & mashed potato dinner on the sofa dinner unmolested.

Hey Shelley! I know I've been kinda quiet lately, but I just want you to know that I am thinking about you all the time & praying for you....I feel badly that I could not help more than sending positive thoughts & prayers...but you have those. I'm going to miss you, but I am so happy that you are safe, & going home. Beckett sends his XXX & OOO's too! Good luck, God speed, & Merry Christmas...& may the New Year find you warm & sunny....(no hitch-hiking, my dear, the right ride will come along...!) Love, jackie BTW- when I read the title to this thread, the Simon & Garfunkle song started playing in my head....."Homeward bound, I wish I was, Homeward bound; home, where my music's playing- home......"

All the best Shelley!  You  are a gutsy gal, making the trek alone.  God speed.

P. S. -You sure look like Farrah in that pic!

Thanks Jackie. I miss you already and I haven't even left yet.
No hitch-hiking to VA. One of our mutual friends is giving me a lift. Only worry is wetting my pants laughing because the potential for wicked women's humor is off the charts for this trip.
I do have to make one more run up north to Carbon County before I head West. Maybe we can "do lunch". I'll bring the tuna and crackers.

Farah Fawcett? Surely you jest Red Sable, but thanks just the same.

Hoping to hit the road West Wednesday, depending on weather events. I am hoping the forecast for snow and ice in KY/TN will improve before then. If not, I have to swing even further south to avoid that storm system, add a whole day to the journey.

I am not just crazy to hit the highway with $1300. (yup, the donation funds from last August/Sept, thanks you, stuck away specifically for this occasion!) and a van load of lives that depend on me for everything.
I AM OUT OF MY FREAKING MIND!

This circus act is running on Faith and tuna fish... but I'm betting we make it!  :-)))

No, actually it is the first thing I thought.  Not a younger Farrah of course but about the same age as you.

I don't feel gutsy. Something is just calling me "home" really loudly right now, and I am bound and determined to answer that call. I have no idea why the call is so strong, but I prayed for guidance, and Gudiance said GO HOME.
So-o-o-o... Westward HO!

Shelly,

 An Irish Blessing to you.....
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always  at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rain fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again..
May God hold you in the palm of his hand

Wishing you Good Luck ,and Happiness
