Anyone try it on cats? I've got a HUGE longhaired furball and nothing works well on him. Seriously, the cat sheds worse than the GSDs. I can spend a half hour brushing him every day and still have cat hair everywhere. I'd love to find something that would work decently on him without making him miserable.

Hi mobjack,
I do in fact use mine on my long haired little girl kitty.
She likes it but just a hint if your cat has that real soft fluffy fur, use some hand lotion or something
on your hands or even a little water or that fluffy kitty fur flies all over the place.

Thanks Franki.
I'll pick one up and try it on him. He does have that soft fluffy flyaway fur that kills vacuums.

i also found that the furminator cuts the dogs hair. I bought mine at an AKC dog show about two years ago for $20. It did get out alot of coat though. I just dont like using it.
I use a rake, one of them zoom grooms and a shedding blade. I like the shedding blade alot better than the furminator. Just my 2 cents.

I will sell my Furminator to the first person who PMs me. $20 plus shipping. It's about 3" wide, maybe the medioum? Worst money I ever spent.

I'm glad it's not just me that thought it felt "scratchy" using it and seemed like it was catching and cutting my dogs coat. I'm wondering if is actually a production thing and some blades are not right, or if they just are like that on some coat types? But mine felt like that on both my husky mix and my gsd, very different coats. Hmm. Some people really really love them though and never had that experience. Maybe I should borrow a different one and try it again...
