Raymond, I was just up at Great Lakes to visit our son in the Navy on Christmas day. It was 3 degrees and the wind was blowing pretty hard. That is one cold place to visit. Came back home to Ohio and it was 65 degrees yesterday.

Some of us are just not biologically capable of staying healthy in a cold damp environment.  I was born in New Jersey and yet I had no physical tolerance for the climate.  Throughout my entire life there, I would get respiratory illness in September and it never really went away until May.  I left at 21 and by 25 I no longer had winter long coldes and congested lungs.  I love the mediterranean climate I live in and so does my bilogical system.  I just don't get sick here.

Perhaps it is genetics.  Half of my ancestors came from Ireland and half came from Syria.  I guess the middle eastern half controls what climate I am healthy in.

Hamilton Field is no longer military and has new houses and apartments and of course, some of the original mission style buildings.  Don't worry Shelley, you would still recognize it easily.  The entire structure of the beautiful main gate is still there and in good condition.

Shelly if you sick, try this it really works. Instead of putting vicks on your chest, put it on the bottoms of your feet and put on clean socks over it. You will not cough all night and will feel better in the am.

My flippen husband has been saying for over 20 years, when he retires he is getting the heck out of CA, I have laughed at him for 20 years. I will not live where it is windy and cold, he hates the desert. So that leaves us here in Southern. CA. I grew up in Northern CA, Marin, Burlingame, Tibourn, Saratoga, and Bel Marin keys. San Franscisco has my heart, to visit. Anybody remember Blackie, the horse?

Mkes me wish I had some Vicks. I ownder if Carmex would do? Out oil burner caught fire this morning. On;y 3 yrs. old. Had to shut it down so no hot water, and only heat from the heat exchanger, which cuts out at about 38F outside temp. Good thing we're getting a 50+F heat wave today, but tonight 30.  Its always something.

The husband is out with his drinking buddies talking about it. Would that that would fix it. I can't believe I vacuumed and mopped the entire 1100 sq ft kennel building today. Looks nice. Warmest place on the property.

Oh yes, Anybody remember Blackie, the horse?

No need to rember Blackie, there is a life size exact duplicte statue of Blackie standing in the pasture like he always did. Right along the Bay in a great place to walk or play with your dogs.  He lived to be 40 years old. 1966 photograph.

Here is the original Blackie

here is the statue in his original pasture:
