Congratulations to Zamp's breeders and owners. What is with all the bitching about the handler? There is no comparison between this postage stamp size showing ring at Crufts and the usual Sieger venues, the GSD's barely have room to get moving. Stop moaning and rejoice in the fact that at long last a GERMAN type GSD has done so well at Crufts rather than the "English" type we usually see there. Again, congratulations to all concerned!

Well said, puddinboots! At least the British judge who awarded him BOB recognized his quality - had he been exhibited at Westminster, with all the American bias against the German GSD, he would have been lucky to place, let alone win...

Congratulations to all who made it possible for a wider audience to see this beautiful dog - all we can hope for in the US is that Animal Planet, which has broadcast Crufts in the past, albeit at a later date, will do it again this year.

For all non Brits wishing to view Crufts you can see it for a few days via the BBC on its online TV player. All BBc's Tv programmes are abailable for a week here http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ after airing on actual TV .. If you choose the last 7 days menu option and click Saturday 8th and then look for crufts episode 3  that is the working and pastoral epsiode

Zamp is seen a few times all be it briefly :(

I thoroughly enjoyed Crufts and felt extremely priviliged and moved  to see such a GSD on our home soil ..Its a day I wont forget in a LONG time.. Huge congrats to all the winners and exhibitors taking part . What a tremendous and friendly atmosphere!!

fda--Thanks for the thought, but "Sorry, this programme is only available to play in the UK (WHY?)" shows up on the bbc screen. You gave me 30 secs of hope, (LOL).  Last night, I went on the Crufts and bbc sites expecting to catch Zamp up close.......No such luck. Just saw that #25 headshot mentioned by Blitzen. Anyway.....appears to have been a fun day for all. Congratulations to the winners and all the participants.

I kept hoping to find a video like...      http://video.westminsterkennelclub.org/player/?id=216528

Despite beign well aware of the vicious cowards lurking here, I still find some of the comments they have written here incredible to believe.

I hope it is now obvious to the majority that regardless of the significance of probably the most HISTORIC (possbily never to be repeated) EVENT for the UK GSD Fraternity of an ACTUAL VA1 German Sieger (and World Sieger - BIS Dortmund 2006)  there will always be those MORONS who lead such sad lives they can only take solace and pleasure from trying to find fault with everything and everybody.

THE MOST FAMOUS, most CORRECT and probably what will turn out to be the most prolific producer of ALL TIME came to the UK to be exhibited at the LARGEST, MOST FAMOUS, MOST WIDELY (BBC) TELEVISED DOG SHOW IN THE WORLD. Not only was it a great coup for the UK it should give a great boost to the revitalisation of the Breed here in the UK at a time when we have never needed it more.

You Morons are not worthy to lick the ground this dog or his handler walks on. With such supposed friends as you, this breed surely needs no enemies..... here we are struggling to fill our rings on the outside as well as in, we struggle even more to find handlers and here is a young girl in a Foreign Land, handling the Best, Most Famous GSD in the World, at the Largest Dog Show in the World and at ONLY 14 YEARS OF AGE, being exposed to the low life comments of MORONS.

Darling LISA , you did us ALL PROUD, how many other 14 Year olds have taken a large pastoral breed to BOB and then being short listed into the last eight in the Group at CRUFTS ..

As for the other nasty suggestions, no he was not , nor would he be , standing here at stud, he need step no further than his front door to fill his German quota with ease.

So  Pencil get some Lead into your life...and Paddle go row your boat into the Burmuda Triangle and both do us all a favour and get lost !!  You spoil it all for the rest of us, DO YOU REALLY THINK WE EVER STAND A CHANCE OF CONVINCING SUCH DOGS TO GRACE OUR RINGS AGAIN WHEN THEY ARE TO BE SUBJECTED TO THE COMMENTS OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU.

I HOPE THE WHOLE GSD FRATERNITY NOW COME OUT OF THEIR PITYFUL HIDDY HOLES AND CONDEMN YOUR COMMENTS ON HERE LIKE THEY HAVE NEVER DONE SO BEFORE. LET THE WHOLE WORLD SEE HOW REAL BRITISH ENTHUSIASTS TRULY APPRECIATED THE EFFORTS THIS LOVELY FAMILY MADE TO EXHIBIT HERE SO MANY MAY VIEW THIS SUPERB MALE IN THE FLESH.

I totally agree with you Sue, Lisa did a fantastic job and I am sure her family are very proud of her.

As I mentioned previously for me there has never been a more correct male in the world, not just the UK, he is absolutely fantastic.  This male for me is what everyone in the UK should be aspiring to own and breed, a beautiful clean topline, lovely hind angles, well balanced male where there was no handler manipulation, no scrabbling on the end of the lead or using the lead to enhance the topline, this male looked fantastic whether he was standing outside the ring unposed or gaiting around the ring.  This IMO is what a GSD should be like.

Thank you and well done to Lisa for bringing such a fantastic male to our country and allowing us to once again see how truly beautiful ZAMP really is.  For me he is easily the best VA male of all time.  I hope that we see him again in the UK and Germany.

Well done!

Puddinboots words are

'Stop moaning and rejoice in the fact that at long last a GERMAN type GSD has done so well at Crufts rather than the "English" type we usually see there.'

Sorry but I find this an insult to a few good dogs who have won Crufts BOB in last few years. And an insult to recent Judges.

Please ensure you are fully informed before making statements here.

Owner of Int Ch, VA Uri V Amulree Sch 3 kkl1 lbz, BOB Crufts 2002 - CLEARLY  a 'german type' shepherd, as is Ch Loretta v Shotaan who went on to take GROUP TWO.

Taking nothing away from Zamp, he is truly a great dog.

Mandy Mac - thank you so much for your quick response, please believe me when I say with more such responses there is a every chance we may get the priviledge of viewing Zamp again in the UK.

Regards

A couple of pics of zamp from Crufts :):)

I think I filled a camera memory card with this wonderful dog alone!!!!

His young handler and owner were so patient and accomodating to all  and zamp a perfect advocate for our breed , he was as steady as they come amongst the crowd.
