This is not uncommon, evidently, for AC to raid a breeding facility, only to pass the "rescued" "intact" females to another breeder to produc more pups. Happened in a near by town, to a mini dachshund breeder. Her place was raided and the females were "adopted out"within a day or two, to the attending vet's lab tech who happened to be a mini dachshund breeder...the vet was so kind as to verify the breed for CKC registration (continental kennel club). Need new females, just arrange a raid and steel them......

Sitasmom,

At this point I have no idea what would be good enough for proof. The owners have all the "normal" paperwork showing them as the rightful & legal owners.... registration papers, tattoo & microchip info, vet records, etc. Plus extras such as emails & correspondence with Dawn, regarding their dogs.

If AKC isn't willing to use their own reg. papers as at the very least, partial proof of ownership, than what the hell good are they? I understand they are just a registry, but come on! If a person has multiple proofs of legal ownership of a dog, one would like to think the registry would honor that. Instead they(AKC) are more than willing to look the other way as long as they make an extra buck or two. I really wish there was another valid reg. in the States one could use. I would pull my AKC reg. dogs in a heartbeat!

joanro,

It has happened in the horse world also. Raids made on barns with top breeding stock due to questionable circumstances. By the time it's all sorted out legally the horses have "magically" been rehomed to other breeding programs. Of course it's found out these horses were fostered out to the programs from the get-go.

It's scary just how much underhanded tactics are at play in lots of these so called rescue cases. Makes me glad I'm just a nobody in a small nowhere town. Not too many people scheming to snatch my dogs ;)

This is so dispicable that it should infuriate EVERY SINGLE dog owner, shit...every American.

There is this little thing called "Due Process'....

I'm really surprised there hasn't been a facebook page set up about this.  Kyle the investigative reporter seems to have left this story....wonder if the law enforcement put some pressure on to let it go?   There needs to be swifter justice, not let this thing drag on with no day in court, especially when animals are involved.

Well, I told Dawn, I am more than willing to help!!!!

This is so F'ing wrong that these dogs were seuzed, and basicly sold...out from under every legal owner.

IF it bothers no one  else that a system designed to help the dogs is so corrupted,  it certainly bothers me...

Good points zdog.  That was an angle that i did not consider " dog has already put in his time."

The only thing to be wary of is do not put too much human emotion on to an animal.

Dog are simple in what makes them happy.  Part of the reason why my goal this year is to be as happy and at peace as my dogs.

Do I have food? Check

Do I have a warm bed? Check

Do I have toys and someone to play with?  Check

All is good.

yes, the dogs have had a miserable life.  But as long as their life is good now and at peace, breeding them will not bring the dog misery.   Dogs live in the moment.

I know how dogs live. Its the people that should know better. They aren't rescuing, they aren't doing "good". They're looking for cheap dogs they can turn a profit from. Kind of defeats the mission statement for most "rescues".

Pretty hard to NOT put human emotion onto an animal....

That seems to be the reason so many dogs get the treatment they get. I don't know about others, but

I Love my dogs.
