See Tracker -- I told you it was "tongue-in-cheek"

by FHTracker on 10 June 2010 - 18:06

Well Ruger just learned an important lesson.  You can't hear inflection across a written medium.

Given what he has said about his dog in previous posts and then this one, it was as logical a conclusion as 'tongue in cheek'.

He clarified himself but initial conclusions was the dog is breeding forward temperment issues.

Thank  you for defending yourself and your program.  Team Mittelwest is always nice and helpful to everyone.  I have witnessed your kindness many times at shows.  You are above most the posers on this board and the record speaks for itself.   I only speak from personal experience not rumor or hear say.  I am not a team Mittelwest member and have competed against Mittelwest.  The entire Mittelwest program is top notch!!!  No one on this board is perfect, and no one has done as much to improve the breed and the sport as you.

Ok ladies I know most women claim not to color their hair, now I understand.

 Semi-permanent hair color
Semi-permanent hair dye has smaller molecules than temporary dyes, and is therefore able to partially penetrate the hair shaft. For this reason, the color will survive repeated washing, typically 4-5 shampoos. Semi-permanents contain no, or very low levels of developer, peroxide or ammonia, and are therefore safer for damaged or fragile hair. However, semi-permanents may still contain the toxic compound P-Phenylenediamine or other such ingredients.

The final color of each strand of hair will depend on its original color and porosity, so there will be subtle variations in shade across the whole head. This gives a more natural result than the solid, allover color of a permanent dye. However, it also means that gray or white hairs will not dye to the same shade as the rest of the hair. If there are only a few gray/white hairs, the effect will usually be enough for them to blend in, but as the gray spreads, there will come a point where it will not be disguised as well..

In this case, the move to permanent color can sometimes be delayed by using the semi-permanent as a base and adding highlights.

below is from Cris Christensen website.

ADVANTAGES:
#1 Color pigment deposit system. Small molecular weight (tiny particles of color) that penetrates the top layer of the hair which is the cuticle or hair lens surface to the cortex without the use of harsh chemicals

BENEFITS:
#1 A semi permanent color that will not rub off on hands or clothing or for that matter a white towel, and last up to 4 weeks.
#2 Acid balanced to close and tighten the hair cuticle lens, amplifying color tones and gloss.
sounds like hair color, but this isn't what this all was about it's about this years SIeger show

To answer the person who asked why I was filing even though I do not own a German Shepherd, I have been a long standing member of USCA (#000036).  We renewed our Family Membership last October just weeks before the voting on the JA.  Being denied a refund of our fee by the current administration, I am still a member until the expiration date this fall so as such am allowed to file.  My protest is directed at the way the obvious display of aggression was handled (or not handled as the case may be).  The judging of the kennel groups was interrupted for several minutes while the dog in question was strung up and hind leg walked out of the ring.  After more "quiet time" outside the ring he re-entered only to tee off again on not only other dogs but his own handler/owner causing a biting incident that drew blood.  The issue I have is with the "blinders" that were put on by not only the judges in attendance but by the National Breed Warden who was also there.  The dyeing/tail incident is not my question (although it does serve as a reference point to someone's character, or lack thereof) here as I was not in attendance nor did I witness any transgression at the WDA event.  I WAS in attendance for the Performance Test on Friday and also was able to see the ring work for the Working Class Males and Kennel Groups on Sunday, so I do have an educated opinion on what happened.  By the response that I have gotten via PM's, there are several people who feel the same way.  If any of you are interested in contributing to the "Geneva Gate Fund", please send me a PM and I will send you my address.

Just curious -- why is Phil filing a BOI; as I understand it, he doesn't own a German Shepherd. Phil are you a member of the Club?

Like Phil, I don't own a GSD either, yet I am willing to try and "take back" USA along with those dissatisfied with the current admin and their going-ons. Strange that non GSD people are AS (or more)  concerned about the organization as those who own the breed it claims to represent?  While not currently owning a GSD I have respected USA as an organization since it began (until recently). I have competed in their trials since they formed.  I am sad to see that it has fallen into the hands of less than stellar folks.  I'd rather help (in my small way) to "take back" the organization than stand there whining like a cur on a board and do nothing.

I love schutzhund as a sport and breeding evaluation for my dogs.  Schutzhund is a small sport in the USA, and any division is harmful to the sport/test as a whole.  While the issue at hand (blatant ignoring of USA policy on dog aggression) took place at a conformation event, it represents, perfectly, the problems with the current admin.  For that reason I would like to see concerned folks step up and take the current admin to task for it.

Again, with the personalities involved in the BOI/upper admin positions I have  little faith anything constructive will happen in this case - but my personality requires that I *try* rather than ignore. You know, better to light one candle...

Maggie/Sock Puppet, please go back and look at your posts compared to those of the adults using this board.  Notice the difference?  Consider this a polite request to take your playground spat to PM. Thanks.

Phil: I don't care if you publish the names of donors or not. And I don't care if you name us on the complaint, whatever you think is best.

Someone told me that if your dog poops in the show ring that it is supposed to be DQ'd. Is this true. If it is I believe it was the winner, may not have been the winner, of the 12-18 month male class pooped in the ring and not only didn't get dq'd but won the class. Then the handler didn't even go clean it up! Everybody saw it happen but I don't know if this is allowed or not allowed, and I am not exactly sure which dog did it but the person next to me said it was the one that ended up winning. I do know that it was in the 12-18 month male class. Also why did they mix the female and male ring together on Sat. The 12-18 month males and 18-24 month males has some troubles becuse they were smelling piss and scent from the females. I don't understand half of what happened at this years show.

Dogs poop in the ring, it doesn't cost you anything other than if the judge was going to look at your dog and instead of gaiting he was pooping.  Usually the handler doesn't clean it, they are busy, ring stewards do it.  My husband cleaned it once, a puppy pooped in a corner and no one saw so he jumped in and scooped it up before the dogs came around again.  I don't like it and my dogs have never done it (since they are absolutely NOT allowed to poop on the field during other performance events) but it's fairly common.

so are you saying that they would be dq'd in a working trial but not a conformation show? Thanks for the answers
