Breed Improvement Suggestions for the UK GSD Breed Council - Page 33

Once again a thread has been hijacked.  Thank you Beepy for starting this thread. 

Only one idea came formward that could incorporate what we already had, could be a one size fits all and also keep the Kennel Club making revenue.  DP put all this together for us and asked us to circulate it to the governing bodies.  I have done this, have you?  Did you in fact contribute to this thread before the DP knocking started.  I don't care if you want to have a go we live in a free society (within reason) but please don't be so rude has to hijack this or anyone elses thread.

what happened to the link between Missbeebs last post and mine,something about gollums song?And in answer to jesse james,no i have not copied and circulated the proposals,why i do not have the facilities to do so.I think you lot will do a good enough job.OH! and if i had really said what i think at the start of this thread,it would not have went down too well,as if you dare to have a different opinion here you are a moron etc.etc.I do believe there are a lot more pressing issues in the breed today than those proposed.Please do not ask because if i start this thread will still be going next year!!!!!  And to all you gullable followers,WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!!!!,this is not highjacking,this is freedom of speech,something,thankfully,we are all entitled to.Now i am off to the real world,i have busy time today with my dogs!!!!!  liz

Sorry Liz, freedom of speach and rudness are two different things.

I am not nor have I ever been 'gullable follower' of any one let alone DP.  I will have a difference of opionion and I will voice them when appropriate (note when appropriate). 

Do I think this proposal will go anywhere - No.  However thanks to Beepy and DP we have tried.  Do I think if these propsals if put in place it will be enough - again No.  Things have to start somewhere and if this gets the ball rolling then we can pat ourselves on the back  and if nothing at all happens, well, at least we tried.  I nolonger breed, haven't done for many years now.  I probably only have one dog left in me and that will be a green10 to 20 month old working line dog from the continent so will these changes make a difference to me - No. However I do and always will love the breed and that is what this thread was about and our actions will hopefully better the breed, that was our intention.

DP has behaved well on this thread, no shouting to speak off and he has contributed well, that should be commended. 

So no I do not need to WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!!!!, I already have.

Funky Munky, I'm sorry you didn't feel able to voice your opinion at the start of this thread... what's the difference between then and now?  Nobody should feel bullied into silence, it's no more acceptable than silly name calling, (I think you called it "freedom of speech") which can be hurtful to some!  

I think there are a few postings missing... who takes them off?

Where on this thread have i been rude?I can only see one person that was rude towards those who have a different opinion,and wish to do so under a user name,which you are asked to give when you join.Missbeeb as i have said i do not think my opinions would have been added to the proposals,and i am speaking for the few here who did speak and were shot down in flames.Now that's bullying in my book,and "the world needs more gollums" is not rude?I think you should do your homework on those you defend,as the saying goes "fly with the crows you get shot with the crows".I have always put my dogs health and the breed first,i have followed every health scheme available,i DO NOT hide anything.I have always said what can i do for the breed,NOT what can the breed do for me!!!!!! And can i just remind you that i have not mentioned anyone by name until replying to those who mentioned mine.If i and a few others are morons,what does that make those that continually reply to the morons?Every one of us is responsable for our dogs health and fitness,and i for one will continue as i have done for years,with or without the k.c.So far i have  had 2 puppies reported to me with problems,1 died at the age of 2 with EPI and the other had a whole in her heart and died at 6 months.I still feel bad about those two puppies,as in my book it is two too many.liz

Funky Munky, I have not refered to anyone on here as a moron... nor would I.  I have not said that you've been rude... though you may well have been!

Please make an effort to read the postings carefully... I am not defending anyone on here!  My ONLY interest is in trying to do SOMETHING to improve the present situation.

All some people can offer is nastiness and scathing personal attacks... THIS is not the place!  Take it up with DP yourselves, don't involve us.  If you didn't want DP to draft the proposal, why didn't you do one... seriously, why didn't you do one?

Who was "shot down in flames"?  The people who refer to us as, "DP fuelled, gullible, useless, DP's magnificent seven? 

For the last time... I don't care if DP is the EARL OF HELL, he's done something useful here!  I've seen him have a go at many people, me included... it doesn't keep me awake nights but the state of our breed does!   If you feel that DP is partly/largely responsible for some of the problems within our breed... take it up with him... PLEASE!

I've had a reply, of sorts from my local MP, (his P.A.) I've to send another copy to him at the House of Commons, nothing fabulous but at least it hasn't been ignored.

How many of you have sent a copy to the KC please?

Lets not go down this road.  JJ started this with her/his post on this thread which was totally unecessary, and then some of you jumped in just like predatory drift (which beging GSD owners you should be well aware of).  I and others took a dim view of this due to the way this thread had, up till then, been conducted. I like Missbeeb could not care less if DP is the devil himslelf.  Like I said earlier he has contributed well to this thread.  It has been a good thread and useful thread shame it couldn't have stayed like that.

MISSBEEB, you are the one needing to read posts properly,i did not say you were rude,but looking back over the posts you have made negative comments to a few.When PEGGY made a valid point about show/working people she was not given an easy time.Once again i will say i did not mention any names,you did.I again repeat i have no personal agendas,i do not know some of the posters,but i do know of them.Now why did i not do a draft of proposals ?......... maybe for the same reasons you or anyone else didn't.Now don't you think it is time to get back to the much bigger issue ie gsd health and improvements? liz
