nig·ger
   /ˈnɪgər/ Show Spelled[nig-er] Show IPA
—Usage note
The term nigger is now probably the most offensive word in English. Its degree of offensiveness has increased markedly in recent years, although it has been used in a derogatory manner since at least the Revolutionary War. Definitions 1a, 1b, and 2 represent meanings that are deeply disparaging and are used when the speaker deliberately wishes to cause great offense. Definition 1a, however, is sometimes used among African-Americans in a neutral or familiar way. Definition 3 is not normally considered disparaging—as in “The Irish are the niggers of Europe” from Roddy Doyle's The Commitments —but the other uses are considered contemptuous and hostile.

–noun
1.
Slang: Extremely Disparaging and Offensive .
a.
a black person.
b.
a member of any dark-skinned people.
2.
Slang: Extremely Disparaging and Offensive . a person of any race or origin regarded as contemptible, inferior, ignorant, etc.
3.
a victim of prejudice similar to that suffered by blacks; a person who is economically, politically, or socially disenfranchised.

I'm not sure SP re your reference to Roddy Doyle's quote. It not be considerd disparaging by many. In context it is an Irishman being self-denigrating, not that unusual for the Irish. I think this way of approaching things is just a well-honed defence, and perhaps quite a healthy one, against the stupidity of those who look down on others for one reason or another. But it doesn't mean it doesn't offend just because the author is one of those mentioned. Anyway, what is the point of this.

Then perhaps you would comment on this particular definition? Since it is not used primarily to describe any member of the black race! Notice that it says a victim of prejudging as experienced by blacks! economics politics or social disenfranchisemnet covers all races chooch! Perhaps you will continue your research also in the urban dictionary! Now since the use of the word by african americans is not considered offensive ! Is it because it is used in a contextual application not referencing race or color but character content? why would a black man not be offended when another black man calls him a nigger but only offended when a man not of his race adresses him in that manner? It is now politically incorect to use that term irreguardless of the context of how it is used because you and othrs are to dam stupid to know the difference!
Ok puppet I can folow you where ever you go

The point is Raymond asked for a definition so I gave him one, taken right out of the dictionary.  Now he wants to focus on number 3. Go figure. Raymond I have all the times you used that word and they are not all being defined by number 3. So if you believe what you wrote above and you can't see how this might hurt others that is your problem and I am sure your god is smiling down on you right now.

The meaning of life is a difficult one and it is one that we will only discover when we die
