there are some visual manifestation which are beyond of dog's control and can't be taught to dog. like hackled hair or expression of dog's psychological state by the tail, etc. same about position of dog's ears during attack.
it's quite rare when dog, approaching object of attack, don't erect ears even for split moment.
need to be a dog absolutely selfconfident and determined to an extremes, to demonstrate this by the ear's position.
as i mentioned above, dogs of that level of selfconfidence are very rare. the bitches even more rarer than the male dogs.
