It is also possible with a little effort to trace a post through the IP address right down to the physical location of the computer sending it. It is done all the time by law enforcement. So, to those who think that they are hiding behind a false or nonexistant e-mail address to send threatening communications (read as assault) you could be in for a nasty surprise someday.

It's also possible to identify the sender via the information that is embedded in the header of each email. Passing an email though several different ISP's does not assure anonymity. Once identified, the ISP/s can trace any email using that information no matter how many times it is fowarded from one address to another.

Somebody on this site advised me to totally ignore the 'ghosts' when the start being nasty. It was great advise, that works well in the real world to. If everyone were to ignore and skip over messages from 'ghosts' and no one was to answer them, they eventually will get bored and quit. Isn't that what we do when working pushy puppies. Ignore everything except the responce we want and then reward them.
