The fanny think about this is that the person is looking for a deal not a dog.he engages all the forum and at the end he say that he had a deal for $800. on this dog.I think that's exactly what $800. can buy him.I don't know any breeder whose breeding stock has elbows,hips DM never mind title dogs like IPO Kkl1 done would sell puppies for $800.I don't blame Von Wyzal for breeding this way,if he has market and buyers for his dogs,than nothing we can do about it,no matter how we will warn and discourage them from buying from breeders like that, they will do it anyway if not from this breeder than another like him Those buyers buy cheap dogs without any guarantees will pay dearly later for the mistake they made by buying these kind of dogs.I know people who bought puppies for 800.-1000. and later they spent thousands trying to fix or safe the dogs because they got so attached to the dog,and they felt sorry for him,paying for all the problems they emerged when the pup got older.Instead doing some homework,overview the pedigrees the breeder credentials,credibility,reputation the buyers go for the price not the quality,and later they whine,and bitch on the forum that they bought this dog and trying to put all the blame on the breeder,they forgot that they made the choice and bought this dog and nobody forced them to do it.

In fairness tho paying thousands for a puppy from a big name kennel with a big ped guarantees absolutely nothing either.

I did not say ''big kennels' out there are small breeders who own only few dogs and they have better grip on the breeding and raising the puppies and that's where I would look my to get puppy from, not from those big name kennels,which became over past years nothing but a puppy mills.

I'll tell you what old shatterhand, I am just trying to make an educated decision since this dog is going to be a part of my family. I know that no amount of money can guarantee a good (as far as health down the road) puppy but knowledge of the breed can, I would love to buy a young dog vs a puppy but being military that is not going to happen some of these dogs cost more than we make in 6 months. There is a lot of information on here but none on what to look for when buying a dog. I am just here to learn and a big thanks to those that are helping me out through p.m. or replies we really appreciate it.

Well, I hope the OP finds a nice family pet. Wyzal offers miltary discounts and I assume that was the "deal" the OP mentioned. I didn't take that to mean he was looking for a bargain basement pup.

Paying thousands for a pup does not mean 100 percent chance you,ll get a nice pup. For 800 its possible to find something very nice in America , Europeans often sell very nice pups under 1000 euro from working titled and health cleared , high end breeding stock, its the airline, customs, brokers fees and extra paperwork fees that jack up the imports so much.

In this case and given the pups pedigree on the dam's side and given his current structure, personally I would pass on this pup. I am not sure where you are located but if in the US there are probably plenty of breeders you could go and see the pup, learn about the breeder's program and how the pups are raised and still get health clearances, which you definitely want that and yet still get a pup for a very fair price. Given all that and for your sake, please keep looking and find something else even if that just means that you have a comparison. Good luck Nan

Nick a lot of young dogs do not cost more than a puppy. Puppies are sold on a promise of potential. All good breeders are attempting to create the best possible dog they can for their venue. Not all pups live up to expectation and become available, sometimes they generically get called "pet quality".

A high level show breeder I know neuters her pet quality dogs and places them in good homes, they can't keep and work every pup they breed. This works in many people's and the dogs favour.

Take yr time and get to know people IRL, the internet is a rather poor place to learn.

Beware of anyone on a forum that has something to sell, dog world is full of sharks.
