summer56 I do not agree with your statement in which you said "what is the point to repeat a title if the dog passed- pronounced move on"

by spook101 on 15 February 2007 - 18:02

moose, personally, I'd look for a young dog that has not been titled. You may be being charged for a titled that really isn't worth it. I guess you're not willing to get a pup. I have 4 month old pup, but I also have a older male I'm presently working. I know sometimes people don't want to wait on a puppy to grow up, but you really learn so much more by doing it.

spook 101 i would like to see what I am looking at when the dog is mature, so I prefer an older dog. So much can go wrong with a puppy. Hips, etc.

by spook101 on 15 February 2007 - 19:02

moose, I know what you mean.

If the dog got a qualifying score to continue to the next level, that will suffice, and yes the dog can move on. Will you repeat a grade in school just because you got a C or a D? Nope, you go on and try to do better next time. If you continue having low grades, college may not be such a good idea, but you can still pass high school. Why do you think it is necessary to repeat a low score SchH1 before the dog can do SchH2? Just curious.

Perspective -- you must see the dog for itself , evaluate it and then determnine the worth . -- the sch 1 says something to one -- but so what about scores -- the score is hogwash anyway - i see some people so worried about 2 points .. thjese dogs get sch 3 but can't work by my standards and then again i have seen no title dogs that can work work work !!-- there are differnet varialbes that determine a score - how was the dog trained .. how does it quatitatively and qualitatively work ? also don't forget if the dog has good to great potential and someone has spent hours trainng -- that is worth quite a bit to -- so bottom line -after seeing the dog .. put aside formulas .. what is the dog worth to you and for whjat you plan ??

PJDogs moose88 does have an eMail listed and I have been in contact, and have had replies. No need to perpetuate the paranoia that is alreay rampant on this board.

Hmmmm by only the information that you have given. Sch1 bad scores, failed the first time, not worked in a year...hello mcfly can you say red flag! His hip rating isnt an A1 either that is a SV rating and by your information, the dog is bred in America it should be a OFA rating. Unless the said person sent xrays to the SV or flew the dog back for a SV rating? I agree with ALPHAPUP go see the dog for yourself. Maybe the person that trialed the dog made bookoos of handler errors. If I had to make a decision of to buy this perticular dog going off of what you have told us my answer would be NO DICE!!!!!

pjdogs or Morgan my email address is above .Im sorry you did not see it .as far as legitimate exchange of info comment - onmy end there was . Got a few nice private emails from several on the board and learned a new way of looking at things .yes you should ignore the topic if the above is the only useful comment you have to contribute - it wasted space and taught no one anything .I am sorry if you meant nothing by your comment but not sorry if you felt the need to try to start something or make up something out of nothing . DH the dogs score is above , the dog is in Florida , owned by someone a friend knows .I have been told that a dog must score better than 80 to pass in C to next title ? is that true ?if so hence the reason why i say perhaps dog needs to repeat schH1 ?
