like some others, we've been feeding gsds for over 30 yrs.  in that time, i've seen lots of changes.  the dogs have shown far more
sensitivity and the quality of food has diminished.  another thing i've learned is that no food is perfect or complete.  even feeding
raw, you have to rotate and switch things up a bit to keep the dogs in good condition.  every kibble on earth is difficient in one way
or another and about the time you think you have a handle on it, you have to go searching again.  i am a grainfree advocate most
of the time, however, in the winter all bets are off.  i feed all kinds of disgusting stuff to keep weight on some of the younger, more
active dogs.  some of the dogs really can't eat grains and never get it, but i do switch things up for those that require more calories.
my old economics instructor said: "never say never and always avoid always."  i have carried that with me my entire life & applies
to feeding dogs as well.

***i actually feed some of the dogs more like sled-dogs in the winter months.  :)
