Here's an update... he eats thighs, and their raw bones.... no problem. I listen to the crunch and look at my pinky finger! There is a certain respect elicited with that sound!

I used to say if Ziggy grew into his feet, he'd be big...then it was if he grows into his ears he'll be huge...I was looking at his teeth, checking for any retained baby teeth...After getting a look at those back molars I'm thinking if he grows into those, an intruder is going to be thinking he's being attacked by trencher.  Holy smokes those are some big teeth back there!

The funniest thing, Deb, is Mojo. He's trying to understand this raw business. Bones, etc., that he's suddenly allowed to eat!  I will give Beau two chicken wings, and Mojo, just one. Same with thighs... I have not graduated to drumsticks....yet....!  Beau finishes his two, and then helps Mojo with his bits. Now, I have a theory, if I threw the raw chicken parts  into the garbage bin, he'd eat it up in record time... skins and all! LOL

I'm not quite getting all these grinder people... seems like the bone crunching is the best part???

Funny, Echo will chow down on drumsticks but she doesn't like the thigh and she will turn her nose up at a leg quarter. She seems to like the backs and necks just fine. Goofy girl. Ziggy spent most of yesterday pulling up our new sod. Not sure where Paul was at the time but I spent most of last evening putting it back and watering it down. This morning I heard a strange metallic clicking sound and tracked it down to Ziggy chewing on my umbrella. Anything new must go into his mouth for him to check it out. This morning after several sessions of doing anything but, Ziggy has finally learned to speak on command. He is so funny trying to figure out what I want him to do. I say speak, he sits, I say speak, he platz, I say speak and he stares into my eyes (which he must do to receive his meals)and all during this time Echo is barking her head off like lookit me mom, I know what to do and I'm feeding her treats like a pez dispenser. I got a little whine and rewarded it, got a moan and rewarded it and finally, a big frustrated bark and rewarded it. Now, by golly he knows what I want! YAY! My, what a big bark he has too. LOL

I just checked out Oma's Pride, as was recommended to me weeks ago. Very good info on this site! I like the feeding calculator... Teeth Smile...  http://www.omaspride.com/education/feeding-raw-dog.html

They have a list of distributors... and only sell the dried stuff and supplements online? Seem's like people selling out of their homes? I'm not sure how to actually buy the stuff!  Any of the closest distributors listed are at least a twenty minute drive from me.  I guess one doesn't buy from a store ... ? I don't know...lol...!  I'll have to call a few numbers I suppose!

I would like to avoid having to go to Avon. But also don't like showing up at strangers' homes and possibly heading for the basement.

Anybody in CT deal with any of the listed distributors? What do you buy? I was looking at the mixes... to keep handy, among other things.
