GSDRocks, I knew who you were talking about, too. If you hadn't said they posted on this board, you probably would have gotten away with it, because that was the big tip-off.

Here are your own words, Hexe: "I suspect reports of this dog being in need of a different hand may well be quite premature." Sure sounds like blowing it off to me. It's also an evaluation based on never having even seen the dog.

LadyFrost, thanks for a well thought out post. It's worth keeping in mind that what is evident to very frequent PDB users is not at all evident to less frequent users, which are the majority. Also, there's a huge difference between privately thinking you've figured out the person who is the subject of a post and naming that person in a post for the world to see (although I don't think you were defending this). I agree that the owner will probably come around. I just hope she does so soon enough.

The lady with the Sheltie-Basenji mix never had any intention of putting her dog's life at risk after everything it took to bring her into her life. But the dog ended up dead anyway. I've seen so many other cases like this where the dog ended up dead. So I worry.

GSDsRock, we all understand and see that you do worry and most agree with your concerns....there just got to be a different way to approach this.
