I am working on Tino. I'll let you know.
One rule you guys can apply your self. It is rule: Proof is in the pudding.
Tino is far enough back that if he is in pedigrees often in the same generations (good sign) because he was good himself, in different generations (good sign) = linebreeding in different generations because he was known to produce well and if he is from excellent dogs himself (good sign) than he is most likely valuable dog. Then you should also research his siblings if they were good themselves and were used in similar fashion as he was, then that is also excellent sign. Since that mens that is recessive genes are not very defective. And then you can look at how much of his progeny from different females was used and linebred on and that will show you how dominant his genes were. That brings me to rule which Duke Ellington applied to music when someone asked him how does he tell good music. And he said : "If it sounds good, it is good.":)
That is what I do if I do not know the dog personally. It is a lot of work.
But I will see if I can dig some specifics on this particular dog. I am not expert on DDR dogs that much.

Hans,
Thanks for looking into it for me. The jury may very well still be out on Tino.
But I think he is worthy of keeping and eye on his progeny the next couple years.
Condor crossed over into every direction, and he was DDR.

My dog is linebred 4-3 to Tino, so I would welcome any further info on the dog. BTW I appreciate your posts Prager, they are always informative and useful :)

" I was also instrumental in registrability of these dogs with AKC.
This effort gave the good name to Czech dogs . However there are many others who jumped on the band wagon here in USA and in Czech and Slovak republic and elsewhere, who have no clue or care either about pedigrees or the type of the dogs they should and will produce if they put together 2 dogs. I know that this sounds too much like a self promotion and maybe it is, but it it is self promotion for the sake of the breed."
Prager,
I honestly think you didn't do all this yourself and should not take all the credit for doing this. I would like to see you give credit to the person in which help you and Jiri do this with AKC.

No, I have never anywhere said that I was the only one who got Czech dogs registrable. I usually choose my words carefully even so structure of my sentences is sometimes off. I said: "I was instrumental". Here is one of the definitions of word "instrumental" .
........, relating to, or being the case used typically to express means, agency, or accompaniment.
And accompanimentt means:an event or situation that happens at the same time as or in connection with another.
Thus yes, I have done it in "connection with another" and that another asked me today not use her name here . So I won't.
I have often gave her credit before. Also I would like you or anybody to point me to a place where this person gave me a credit for anything. Sorry for being sore and edgy.
I had a hard day.

Someone asked me about Tino. I have talked to my friend in Czech who is a breed warden and he said that he is a good (When they say good they mean GOOD. They are not big on superlatives) representative of old DDR blood and that he is not aware of any problems to consider in breeding this dog.
So there you go.
